Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a low-cost and high-controllability position input device by using the sense wire forming a loop, the driving wire group which contains the parallel part to the sense wire to have the electromagnetic connection, and the input pen containing the sense amplifier and the high magnetic conductivity component each.
CONSTITUTION: Sence wire 1 forming the sense loop plus driving wire groups 2 and 2' containing the parallel part to wire 1 are distributed to secure the electromagnetic induction connection with wire 1. Driving wires 2 and 2' feature the opposite current directions to each other to sence loop 1. And the both ends of wire 1 are put into sense amplifier 3 along with installation of the input pen containing the high magnetic conductivity component 4. When the pulse current (a) is supplied to wire 2, signal (b) is obtained from amplifier 3 to be made to correspond to bit 1. In the same way, signal (c) corresponding to bit 0 is obtained from amplifier 3 when wire 2' is driven. In this connection, if driving current (d) and (e) are flown to amplifier 3 at the different time, detection signal (f) is obtained from amplifier 3. As a result, the number of the driving circuit and the sense amplifier can be decreased to obtain a low-cost device.
