Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a carcinostatic substance by treating cell walls of bacteria belonging to Bacteroides genus, etc. with an enzyme, and dialyzing with water.
CONSTITUTION: Cell walls of bacteria belonging to Bacteroides, Megasphaera or Pasteurella genus, are treated with a cytolytic enzyme (e.g. lysozyme), and dialyzed with water. The purified liquid is dried to obtain the objective carcinostatic substance (white powder). The substance suppresses the proliferation of cancer cells immunologically, and is effective to suppress the cancer while reactivating the lowered immunity of the patient. Especially useful as a remedy for the cancer of cattle.
