Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of the blooming phenomenon by providing the charge transfer shift register adjacently to the photo-sensitive part of the inter-line system and then transferring the charge sent from the register to the storing part.
CONSTITUTION: Photo-sensitive region 8 including charge transfer shift registers 5∼ 7 plus storing region 9 comprising the storing part which stores the signal charge corresponding to each picture element are installed adjacently to each picture element row and via gate 10. In addition, reading charge shift register 11, which reads out the signal charge at region 9 with every line, is provided adjacently to regions 8 and 9, and the charge transfer is controlled by gate 10. At the same time, region 14 featuring the opposite conductivity to the semiconductor substrate is provided at the opposite side to region 8 via gate 13. And each picture element is separated via impurity region 15 featuring the same conductivity as the semiconductor substrate. In such constitution, the excessive carrier of the picture element caused by the intensive incident rays can leak out to registers 5∼7. As a result, no blooming phenomenon is caused during the transfer of the signal charge to region 9.
