Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a lithographic printing plate having high camera speed, high sensitivity, and superior print resistance, by providing a photosensitive resin composition layer forming an oleophilic image on a support having a hodrophilic surface with a developing solution, and a specified thermodevelopable type photosensitive composition layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive resin composition layer containing a photosensitive resin (containing polyvinylcinnamate, diazonium group, or the like) forming an oleophilic insoluble area on positive or negative exposure is coated on a hydrophilic surface, such as an aluminum plate with its surface sand dressed. On this layer an interlayer such as gelatin is provided to form a thermodevelopable photosensitive composition layer containing organic silver such as silver behenate, photosensitive silver halide or this precursor, a reductant such as o-bisphenol, and a binder shch as polyvinylbutyral. This printing plate material is imagewise exposed, thermodeveloped, then, the whole surface is exposed, and the area where the oleophilic photosensitive resin is insolubilized with a developing fluid is left on the aluminum plate, thus permitting the oleophilic property, mechnical strength, and friction resistance of the image area to be enhanced.
