Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a write efficiency and a recording density by holding the tip of a magnetic pole between metal consisting of non-magnetic or weak-magnetic hard materials from both sides and preventing the magnetic pole tip from flagging at a wrap time. CONSTITUTION:Tip 2a of magnetic pole 2 is held between non-magnetic or weak- magnetic hard materials 6 and 6', which have a mechanical characteristic (hardness, malleability, pulling strength, etc.,) similar to the tip, from both sides. Consequently, magnetic pole tip 2a is protected from deformation by these materials 6 and 6' and is prevented from flagging. Then, since materials 6 and 6' are non-magnetic or weak-magnetic, the magnetic field distribution in magnetic pole 2 is not affected at all. So, a high-density vertical magnetic recording can be performed because magnetic pole tip 2a holds a narrow state of the same width as a thin film forming time even after wrap finishing.
