Abstract
PURPOSE: An oil-water separator which is capable of almost completely recovering and removing oils with easier maintenance at lower cost because of no use of power and lesser amounts of oil adsorbent used.
CONSTITUTION: Plurally connected separating chambers S1WS3 provided with the oil overflow holes H1WH4 on their upper sides for the separation of floating oil are provided on the upstream side of the water tank W in which flow is produced due to water level differences between the oily waste water inlet 1 and the exhaust port 2, and also the plurally connected adsorbers 4 and 5 packed with an oil adsorbent and through which the waste water from the separating chambers S1WS3 passes is provided on the downstream side of the water tank W. The separation of oils is made by introducing oils-containing waste water from the inlet 1 and then by passing it through the separating chambers S1WS3 orderly.
