Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a rubber composition capable of affording rubbery elastomer of markedly reduced compression set, comprising a naturally-occurring or synthetic rubber, a specific silicon compound, a silica filler, and a curing agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective rubber composition comprising A) 100 parts by wt. of a) a neturally-occurring, or b) a synthetic rubber except a silicone rubber, B) 0.5W30 parts by wt. of at least one sort of component selected from c) a silane of formula I (R1 is 1W10C monovalent hydrocarbon group; X is hydroxyl, hydrolysable atom or group; a is 1W3), d) an organopolysiloxane of an average polymerization degree of 40 or less, represented by formula II (R2 is H or a monovalent hydrocarbon group; b is a positive number: 1W2.5) and e) an organopolysilazane of formula III (R3 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group; c is a positive number: 1W3), C) 10W200 parts by wt. of a silica filler, and D) 0.1W10 parts by wt. of a curing sgant such as sulfur.
USE: Rubber products such as oil seals like 0-ring, packing, etc.
