Abstract
PURPOSE:To sharpen the directivity of an antenna assembly by arranging a main antenna, an auxiliary antenna and an amplifier which is connected with the two antennae. CONSTITUTION:A main antenna 1 is connected through a transmission and reception switching device 3 with an oscillator 4 and a phase shifter 5. An auxiliary antenna 2 has its opening length reduced to one third of the antenna 1. Numerals 6 and 9 indicate detectors; 8 and 10 indicate intermediate frequency amplifiers; 7 a common local oscillator; and 11 an integrating circuit. With the use of such construction, the phase compensation is carried out such that the intermediate frequency signals received by the main and auxiliary antennae 1 and 2 at the position corresponding to the center portion of the directiveness of the main antenna 1 are in phase. Those signals are fed to an integrating circuit 11, and then the output signals 13 of those composed from the main and auxiliary antennae take three peaks within the range of the main beam. Thus, it is possible to sharpen the directivity of the antenna.
