Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance current efficiency, Al alloy for current passing anode to be used for cathodic protection os added with Ca, Zn, In, and Sn, and content of Cu, Si, Cu impurities is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: Al alloy for current passing anode is added with Zn: 2.0 to 5.5 wt%, In: 0.01 to 0.04 wt%, Sn: 0.001 to 0.04 wt%, Ca: 0.05 to 0.7wt%. Impurities are controlled to Fe<0.20 wt%, Si<0.10 wt%, Cu<0.01 wt%. Incorporating Sn, Ca, etc. into Al in the amount specified above effects that Ca is disapersed into Al alloy as solid solution, producing more uniform corrosion surface due to Zn. Thus, the material, when used as current passing anode, produces very uniform dissolved surface and current efficiency increases.
