Abstract

PURPOSE: To use packed adsorbent in an apparatus described in the titiel effectively so as to prevent corrosive gas from leaking to outside, by arranging a corrosive-gas detector on the downstream side of an adsorbing column, and by arranging another adsorbing column on the downstream side of the detector.
CONSTITUTION: A gas to be treated is led in regular direction flow 7 through an inlet pipe 1 to the first adsorbing column 2.1, where corrosive gas is adsorbed. When a corrosive gas detector 4 senses the corrosive gas, the corrosive gas is leaking from the column 2.1, however it is adsorbed by the second adsorbing column 2.2, therefore no corrosive gas is discharged to outside. When the detector 4 senses the corrosive gas, valves B1, B3 are closed and valves B5, B6 are opened, hereby the gas to be treated is run from the column 2.2 to the column 2.1, and is discharged through an outlet pipe 11. At that time, the corrosive gas having leaked from the column 2.2 is adsorbed by the column 2.1. The gas to be treated is led to a preparatory adsorbing columns instead of the columns 2.1 and 2.2, and the columns 2.1 and 2.2 are heated by heaters, so that the desorbed corrosive gas is passed through a recovering unit 5 and an exhausting apparatus thereby recovering the corrosive gas, and both adsorbing columns are regenerated.
