Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend the dynamic range without lowering S/N, by correcting the reception input signal to an input electric current linearly, in an optical analog signal transmission circuit using LED for the conversion element at the transmission section. CONSTITUTION:The nonlinearity of LED1 is corrected by providing a logarithmic converter 4 at the prestage of LED1 at the transmission side. The effective radiation flux phiR of the LED1 gives an effective radiation flux phiT to a photodetector 3 through an optical transmission medium 2 and the detector 3 receives it and outputs an output current IC. Thus, the reception output current IC to the input current is corrected linearly, allowing to extend the dynamic range without lowering S/N.
