Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a compact and light weight vertical shaft wind wheel capable of generating full output even by a gentle wind by providing a group of blades radially and vertically on the periphery of a cylinder and also guide plate groups opening outwards likewise in the place of the conventional type of horizontal shaft in a wind wheel for power generation.
CONSTITUTION: A group of blades 6 are fixed radially and vertically on the periphery of the cylinder 2 freely rotatable around the vertical shaft 1 provided centrally. Then, the inner annular plates 8 and 8' are fixed to the upper and lower ends of the group of blades 6, a group of trapezoidal guide plates 9 opening outwards are provided radially and vertically on the blades 6, and the upper and lower ends of the guide plates 9 are fixed to the funnel-like outer annular plates 10 and 10'.
