Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of casting work without oxidizing the molten metal, by installing two melting furnaces in die casting machine, dividing the melting furnace having molten metal injection device into two chambers by a narrow passage, and controlling the tapping output from the other melting furnace with molten metal detector.
CONSTITUTION: A melting furnace A of a die casting machine is divided into a feed furnace (a4) equipped with molten metal injection device 1 and a buffer furnace (a3) by means of a bent narrow junction (a2) and a partition plate 2. The buffer furnace (a3) is communicated with separate melting furnaces B with pouring passage C, and the level of molten metal in the feed furnace (a4) is detected by a molten metal detector (a1) provided in the feed furnace (a4), and a stopper 4 of the melting furnace B is operated by this detection signal to supply the molten metal 5 from a communication port (b1) into the buffer furnace (a3) through the pouring passage C, and the level of moltem metal in the feed furnace (a4) may be always held at a specified level, so that the efficiency of casting work may be improved. In addition, by providing the pouring passage C hermetically to shut off air, oxidation of the molten metal is prevented, and drop of the detection capacity of the detector (a1) due to ripples on the molten metal surface in the feed furnace (a4) due to impact of pouring from the melting furnace B may be also prevented.
