Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the work by integrating a piston and a piston rod tight by cold caulking and by utilizing the restoring elastic force of the piston compressed and deformed in the axial direction.
CONSTITUTION: Flange-shaped caulked part 1b is formed on the end of small diameter part 1b of piston rod 1 by cold caulking. Piston 5 is pressure-inserted between caulked part 1b and stepped part 1d, with its length shortened compared with its length in the axial direction when no external force is applied. Further, the restoring force of elasticity of piston 5 is sustained by caulked part 1b and stepped part 1d, and by their reaction, piston 5 is held under pressure between caulked part 1b and stepped part 1d. Thus, piston 5 and rod 1 are integrated tightly.
