Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically obtain a positive with one photoreceptor by using a photoreceptor manufactured by laminating two kinds of photoconductive layers on an electrically conductive substrate in order; carrying out exposure with two kinds of light to form two latent image portions; and superposing two images.
CONSTITUTION: On an electrically conductive substrate of Al or the like a first photoconductive layer of selenium or the like sensitive to visible light is laminated, and a second photoconductive layer of polyvinyl carbazole or the like sensitive only to ultraviolet rays is further laminated to manufacture a photoreceptor. This photoreceptor is primarily charged with electricity of the reverse polarity to the polarity of the many carriers of the first layer, and then while being charged with electricity of the reverse polarity to the polarity of the primary charge, the photoreceptor is partially exposed to light providing photoconductivity only to the first layer to form a first latent image portion.
