Abstract

PURPOSE: To not only improve rise of an exciting current but also lower the voltage applied to a control transistor at a constant-current operation time, by using two exciting power sources and two control transistors in the exciting power supply circuit which supplies a square wave-form exciting current to an exciting coil.
CONSTITUTION: Exciting power source E1 is connected to exciting coil L through transistor (Tr) Q11 and diode D3, and exciting power source E2 is connected to exciting coil L through TrQ12 and diode D4. Output TrQ2 of constant current circuit CC is connected to the bases of TrQ11 and Q12 through diode D2 and Zener diode D2. At the rise of exciting current I, the output of differential amplifier A1 is large, and TrQ2 becomes a saturation state, and D2 and Dz are turned on and TrQ11 and TrQ12 are turned on because the collector potential is low, and the voltage of the sum of power sources E1 and E2 is applied to coil L. Meanwhile, when exciting current I reaches set value Io, TrO12 is cut off, and therefore, a current is flowed to only TrQ11, and the exciting current is supplied from power source E1 to coil L.
