Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:An amidine derivative of formul I (X is amidino, guanidino, biguanidino group, etc.; m is O, or an integer 1W2; Y is O or S; n is an integer 1W4; R3 is H, cyano, arylcarbonylamino group, etc.; R4 is H, lower alkyl, aralkyl group, etc.) and its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: 4-(3-Dimethylamino-methylphenoxy) butylamidine hydrochloride.
USE: Gastric acid secretion suppressants without the anticholinergic action.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II1 (R' is lower alkyl group) is reacted with an amine of formula III1 in a solvent, e.g. an alcohol or ether, under neutral or basic conditions at room temperature or above to give the compound of formula I.
