Abstract

PURPOSE: To control pressure of intake air without lowering turbine efficiency, by providing a turbine-outlet guide pipe in the turbine casing, and further providing on the outside of said guide pipe a chamber communicated to an exhaust-gas by- pass passage formed in the turbine casing.
CONSTITUTION: In turbine casing 1, there is provided a turbine wheel 2. The turbine wheel 2 is rotated by exhaust gas introduced from inlet 3, and exhaust gas is discharged to the outside from outlet 4. Further, in turbine casing 1, there is provided a turbine-outlet guide pipe 7, concentric with turbine wheel 2, disposed on the outlet side of exhaust gas, and a chamber 13 is formed on the outside of said guide pipe 7 such that it is communicated to by-pass port 9. Exhaust gas in casing 1 is passed through guide pipe 7 and outlet 4 and carried into outlet pipe 15. Here, if waste gate valve 17 is opened, superfluous exhaust gas is passed through by-pass passage 6, by-pass port 9 and chamber 13 and flows uniformly into exhaust gas in guide pipe 7.
