Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a sufficient extension-side damping force by a method wherein a non-return valve capable of opening and closing freely is arranged at the upper port end of a back face throttle port, and the amount of oil flowing through the port is limited. CONSTITUTION:Damping force during extension stroke arises from the flow rate of oil flowing through a through-hole 24 of a support member 25, a gap created by flexure of the member 25 and a leaf spring 20, a through-hole 18, and through a gap created by flexure of a piston 14 and a sub leaf valve 26. At this time, a non- return valve 22 closes a back face port 19, thereby unidirectionally limiting the amount of oil flowing through the port 9. Thus a sufficient extension-side damping force is procured even in the case of a narrow cartridge-type shock absorber.
