Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the rolling pressure for the middle part of the material, and to improve the effect of pressure welding for the porosity, by giving material the strong reduction with the stepped rolls and flat rolls, while the bloomed slab still keeping a temperature difference between its surface and central zone. CONSTITUTION:While the continuously cast and bloomed slab still keeps a temperature difference between its surface and central zone, a strong reduction is given by the stepped rolls 1 to the middle part A of the material 2. Hereby, the compression stress acting in the longitudinal direction of the sheet generates at the part A, and the tensile stress generates at the part B being left free from above reduction, and the compression stress of the part A increases. Next, the material 2 is rolled by the flat rolls 3, and the part B receives reduction under the compression stress acting in the longitudinal direction of the sheet, and a high rolling force can be obtained. According to this method, the porosity at the central zone of the slab is effectively pressure welded, and the cast structure is efficiently forged; as a result, the manufacturing limit for the sound, high equality thick steel plate is widened.
