Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly flame-retardant composition capable of being blended with a large quantity of a flame retardant and an inorganic filler.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of polyvinyl chloride is blended with B) 10W 50 parts by wt., preferably 20W30 parts by wt. of NBR containing preferably 25W 40 wt% of nitrile, C) 10W50 parts by wt., preferably 20W30 parts by wt. of a plasticizer (trioctyltrimellitate, etc., for use requiring heat resistance), and D) preferably 10W30 parts by wt. of a flame retardant (e.g., antimony trioxide, etc.) and/or preferably 5W20 parts by wt. of an inorganic filler (preferably clay treated with aminosilane) in an amount enough to give a limiting oxygen index of a flame retardant composition not less than 35.
