Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily and rately detect vertical synchronizing by detecting the portion where the rise interval at the last period of the vertical synchronizing pulse period of the composite period signal is extremely narrow.
CONSTITUTION: The composite synchronizing signal Sc being applied to input terminal 30 is applied to the clear terminal 37a of a counter 37 through a differentiating circuit 31. A counter 37 maintains the level "H" during the time since the signal Sc rose until the counter counts 16 pulses of 2.0475M Hz, i.e., for a period of 8μ sec. Beyond this the level goes to "L" and the above is repeated. Here, the clear of an FF 38 is released at the rise (time t1) of the final unit pulse PA of the vertical synchronizing pulse period and the inversion output thereofis made "L" so that the data input of an FF 39 is forcefully made "H". When the data are read in at the next rise (time t2) of the signal Sc, the non-inversion output of the FF 39 becomes "H" and the inversion output "L". Such "L" output becomes the vertical synchronizing detection signal.
