Abstract

PURPOSE: The title packing material for crowns, etc., having improved softness, elastic recovery, and heat resistance, free from changing the taste or odor of the contents, comprising a foamed specific propylene-1-butene random copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A propylene-1-butene random copolymer having the heat of crystal fusion of 30W80 Joules/g, preferably 70W80 Joules/g, and a melt index of 0.1W30, particularly prepared in the presence of a catalyst formed from a complex comprising Mg, Ti, and halogen, an organometallic compound of metals of Groups I to III, and an electron donor, is impregnated with 0.01W5 wt% of a blowing agent, e.g. azobisisobutyronitrile, plasticized under pressure, and foamed at an expansion ratio of 1.1W3, preferably 1.3W2, under a low pressure. The copolymer consists of 60W80 mole %, preferably 70W80 mole %, of propylene.
