Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the temperature of the measuring object with a simple apparatus by installing a material whose light transmissivity changes with temperature near the measuring object in a high temperature state and measuring the light transmissivity thereof. CONSTITUTION:Light having been intensity modulated to a fixed amplitude is radiated from a light emitting element 1 via condensing lens 4 and first optical fiber 3 to a material 6 which is installed near the measuring object 12 and has temperature dependency of light transmission characteristic like liquid crystal. The light having passed through the material 6 is led via second optical fiber 8, condensing lens 11 to a photo detector 10 to detect its light amplitude, whereby the temperature of the measuring object 1 is known. According to such method, temperature measurement is possible even in the case where the temperature of the measuring object is low and the temperature detection through spectral analysis of radiation light is infeasible.
