Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily adjust a characteristic of damping force in the case when a shock absorber is compressed, by varying a diameter of an orifice by turning a knob of a side portion of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When an oil pressure shock absorber is compressed, a valve 5 of a piston 3 is opened, and oil flows into an upper portion from a lower portion of the piston 3. A valve 29 and an oil hole 31 are kept under conditions that the valve and the oil hole are closed. Thus, oil corresponding to the volume of a piston rod 9 inserted into a cylinder 1 passes through an orifice 30 and orifices such as 43 of a cylindrical body 36 with a bottom and is fed into an oil storage tank 23, and damping force is formed. The desired damping force can be obtained by selecting an orifice facing to an oil path 47 among 43-46 by turning a knob 38.
