Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable input operation with one hand and to perform keyboard input while holding a handset or book or indicating data on a document with a finger by making character group of alphanumeric letters for the right fingers and left fingers overlap with each other without changing their arrays, and adding a mouse switching key onto a keyboard. SOLUTION: Alphanumeric letters for the character group for the right hand and the character group for the left hand are arrayed one over the other as they are. Punctuation marks, etc., are assigned to left characters of keys (G), (C), (V), and (B). Further, 'mouse switching key' is arranged at the right lower corner, and the mouse pad is arranged to be switched between mouse mode and right-left mode and switching to arrow mode can be performed by depression together with 'CTRL' key. The arrow mode is canceled with the 'mouse switching key'. せてある。左右の文字群の区別は、マウスパッド上の指
の位置で行う。また、そのためマウスパッドが通常マウ
スとして機能する場合と他の用途で機能する場合との切
り替えを行う為に、「マウス切り替えキー」をキーボー
ド上に追加する。

をマウスモードと左右モードとに切り替え、及び「CT
RL」キーと同時に押しての矢印モードに切り替えが出
来きる。矢印モードは「マウス切り替えキー」でキャン
セルされる。キーボードの左下には、親指で操作を行う
マウスパッドを配置し、「マウス切り替えキー」のスイ
ッチングにより、マウスモード、左右モード、そして矢
印モードの使い方ができる。図2は、マウスモードの場
合の様子を示してあり、通常のマウスパッドとして機能
する。本実施例では、確定には「ENTER」キーを用
いている。図3は、左右モードの場合のマウスパッドを
示しており、4つのゾーンに別れる。右側は右キー、左
側は左キーの選択、そして、上下は大文字と小文字のシ
フト選択を行える。右キー選択と左キー選択は、一度選
択されると他方の選択がされない限り、指が離れていて
も継続されるが、シフト選択機能は指がついている時だ
けの選択となっている。図4は、矢印モード時のマウス
パッドを示しており、対角線で区切られたゾーン区分と
なっている。、上、下、左、右の矢印キーの機能を持
ち、ウィンドウズ上のポインター(矢印)を上下左右に
ステップ移動させることができる。また、本実施例で
は、F1,F2,・・・F10に相当するファンクショ
ンキーは特に設けず、「ALT」キーと数字キーを同時
に押すことにより代用させている。本発明をベースに他
のキーの付加をしたり、再アレンジする事は、本発明に
何ら影響を与えるものではないことは自明のとおりであ
る。
