[Detailed description of the invention] The invention relates to an interior decoration product using sand, and more specifically, an appropriate amount of sand is placed in a thin cavity of substantially equal thickness covered with a transparent cover. The present invention relates to interior decoration products using sand filled with sand. When this ornament is placed in its normal state, i.e., in a nearly horizontal state, there is nothing unusual about it, with only sand in the void, but by suddenly standing up this ornament, the sand inside is removed. As it moves against air resistance and accumulates downward, it takes on a beautiful dune-like shape, and this dune-like shape remains almost permanently for a long time unless the ornament is moved suddenly. It is something.

The inventor of this invention once worked in Abu Dhabi, a desert area in the Middle East, and was keenly aware that there were very few suitable souvenirs for Middle Eastern travelers to commemorate their trip to the Middle East. Taking advantage of this experience, the inventor of the present invention was considering whether it would be possible to manufacture suitable souvenirs using desert sand, and while doing so, he realized that the void formed between two parallel glass plates such as those in a double-glazed window. I learned that if you put an appropriate amount of sand in a container and raise it suddenly, the sand will accumulate downwards in a wavy pattern reminiscent of desert dunes, and based on that knowledge I wrote this book. Completed the idea.

As we continued our investigation, we learned that the shape of this sand dune-like waveform changes depending on the thickness of the void formed by the glass plate; the smaller the thickness, the smaller the sand dune, and the slope of the sand dune. I also learned that the thicker the dune, the larger and the gentler the slope. Therefore, by using multiple glass plates to create multiple cavities with different thicknesses and filling them with an appropriate amount of sand, it is possible to create a sense of perspective similar to when viewing sand dunes in a desert area. I also learned that.

The sand-based interior decoration of this invention uses local sand as it is to evoke the image of local sand dunes, and is not only suitable as a souvenir for tourism in the Middle East desert region, but also of course similar to Japan's Tottori Sand Dunes. It is extremely suitable as a tourist souvenir for areas where sand is a tourist resource.

Therefore, the gist of the present invention is that the physical properties both in terms of appearance and response to external forces are substantially improved within a thin closed cavity having a substantially equal thickness within the range of 1 mm to 5 mm covered with a transparent cover. A sand dune pattern consisting of a plurality of stacked thin chambers filled with an appropriate amount of sand that is uniform in size, and the thickness of the voids in the plurality of chambers may be the same or different. It depends on the interior decoration used.

The decorative items of the present invention include many items such as table lamps, wall frames, and coasters that also serve as decorative items. The thickness of the cavity into which the sand is placed varies depending on the dimensions of the ornament, but is generally about 1 to 5 mm. If the thickness is too thin, the volume will be lacking, and if it is too thick, the dunes will be too gentle.
Of course, it is possible to make the gap formed by the transparent cover one layer, but since the image from the pattern obtained is monotonous, it is insufficient as an ornament, so the transparent cover is layered. Several layers of voids are formed, and sand is poured so that the height of the sand is lower toward the front and higher toward the rear, so that the resulting dune-like shape is piled up. The thickness of the void is also thicker towards the front and thinner towards the back, creating a sand dune-like image that is larger towards the front and smaller towards the back, creating a sense of perspective when looking at the sand dune.

The material of the transparent cover can of course be made of glass, and although glass is a preferable material because it is difficult to scratch, it has the drawbacks of being easily breakable and expensive, and being heavy, so transparent acrylic resin is used instead of glass. , polystyrene, etc. can also be used.
In the case of synthetic resin, the case for holding the sand of the decorative article of the present invention can be manufactured at low cost by integral molding, and has the advantage that it is lightweight and difficult to break.

The ornament of the present invention is generally manufactured as a flat plate-like structure, but it does not have to be a particularly flat structure. If different spherical surfaces are used as the transparent cover, the thickness of the gap formed between the spherical surfaces is substantially the same, and the objective of the present invention is achieved.

It is also a good idea to draw an appropriate picture on the last side of the ornament of this invention to evoke the local scenery, such as pyramids, palm trees, camels, etc.

Although it is necessary for the ornament of the present invention to have an opening for putting sand in before it is filled with sand, it is necessary to close this opening after filling it with sand to prevent the sand from spilling out. And, by closing this opening, the gap containing the sand is kept substantially airtight, which seems to help increase the air resistance when the sand moves, and it is better to keep it airtight. The shape of the resulting sand dune appears more clearly and neatly than if it were left open.

In order to further improve the appearance of the ornament of the present invention, it is optional to provide a frame-like decoration around the ornament. You can enjoy the different colors by changing the sand in each layer, such as Aline (red), Dubai (brown), Mubarraz (cream), and Abu Tabi (white), or enjoy the different colors of sand in the world's representative deserts, the Sahara. , Gobi, Nefud and other desert sands, or Tottori,
It is also good to use sand from various parts of Japan, such as Uchinada, Kujukuri, and Mt. Mihara.

FIG. 1 is a front view of a table lamp, which is a preferred embodiment of the decorative article of the present invention, in an upright state. The stand of this specific example has a decorative edge 1 around its periphery, and the main body is surrounded by the decorative edge 1. The figure shows sand dunes 3, 4, 5, and 6 formed of four layers of sand inside the transparent cover 2 at the forefront.
The sand layers are marked with hatching to help you distinguish between each sand layer. The transparent covers between each sand layer are omitted in this figure because they cannot be distinguished from each other in the drawing. In this example, the rearmost surface is opaque and has a back picture drawn on it. Of course, the rearmost surface may also be made of a transparent material, or a back sheet may be attached to the back thereof.
Legs for standing the stand can be provided on the back side of the stand. These legs are not necessarily necessary, but if you use a support stand to display a decorative plate, etc.
Alternatively, if the number of sand layers in this stand is large and the thickness of the stand is sufficient, it is not necessary.

FIG. 2 shows a sectional view taken along line A--A in FIG. 1. The main body is incorporated into the decorative edge 1, and the main body has four transparent covers 2, 8, 9, 10 made of glass that are arranged substantially in parallel, and the first sand layer 3 is transparent. between the covers 2 and 8, a second sand layer 4 between the transparent covers 8 and 9, a third sand layer 5 between the transparent covers 9 and 10, and a fourth sand layer 6
is the transparent cover 10 and the last opaque glass surface 7
It is forced to exist between. As described above, the rearmost opaque glass surface 7 may be made of a transparent material, or may be made of a transparent material and an opaque back sheet attached thereto. As is clear from the figure, in this specific example, the thickness of the sand layer is thick at the front, and gradually thins toward the rear, so that the size of the sand dune changes and a sense of perspective is obtained.
The frame 11 is for holding the glass transparent cover of the main body, the rearmost opaque glass surface, and sand. This stand is manufactured by removing one part of the frame 11 and filling it with sand, combining the frames to form a main body, and then incorporating this main body into the decorative frame 1.

When made of synthetic resin, the transparent cover and this frame can be integrally molded, and an opening is made in advance at an appropriate location in the frame, sand is filled through the opening, and then the opening is closed using an appropriate means, such as adhesive tape, etc. You should close it.
