場合に交換ないし補修すべき止水栓又は給水管部分の上
流側を止水する必要が生じる。
かかる止水の必要が生じた際、従来は例えば第10図に
示すように上記止水栓(図示せず)よりも上流側に位置
する給水管B(流水方向を矢印Aで示す)の適当な箇所
B1を圧着機Cで圧着することによって止水し、その状
態で止水栓の交換作業を行っていた。その際、前記のよ
うに塩ビ管でなる給水管を圧着すると、その圧着された
箇所Bが座屈するため、低温時の作業や老朽管において
は管口体が破損することかあり、また、例えこのような
破損か起きない場合であっても座屈によって強度が著し
く低下するから、その座屈部分を補強する必要がある。
そこで、従来においては、その座屈部分B1を補強する
ために、両端部が給水管用接続部とされ且つ該接続部に
締結用の袋ナツトD、 、D、か夫々取り付けられてな
る筒状の補強継手りを座屈部分B1に取り付けることを

ガスの取り扱い資格を要する等の点で問題がある。
本発明は、既設管の補強に関する上記のような問題に対
処するもので、管を切断せずに簡単に既設管の所要部分
を補強ないし補修することのできる既設管用補強工法を

上記テープ1はゴム状弾性体によって構成されており、
既設管4の補強すべき部分(例えば圧着・復元部分。以
下、被補強部という)4aに外から巻き付け又は接着す
ることができるようになっている。
また、分割カバー部材2は、半円筒部20aを夫々有す
る一対の半割状カバー部材20.20によって構成され
ている。これらの半割状カバー部材20.20は、夫々
、その軸方向に沿って半円筒部20a、20aの外側に
テーパ状の鍔部20b、20bが設けられており、その
各鍔部20bの一方の面が合わせ面20b1とされ且つ
他方の面が該合わせ面20b1に対して軸方向に傾斜す
る傾斜面20b2とされている。そして、これらの半割
状カバー部材20.20の合わせ面20bを互いに合わ
せた時に、両半円筒部20a、20aによって既設管4
の外径よりも僅かに大きな内径を有する円筒部を形成す
るようになっている。
一方、締結部材3は、上記分割カバー部材2における鍔
部20b、20bの合わせ状態の形状に対応する溝3a
を長手方向に形成した構成である。
この溝3aは、溝幅方向に対向する一対の面3b、3c
が互いに反対方向に傾斜されていることにより、その一
端から他端に向けて溝幅が広くなるように形成されてい
る。そして、上記合わせ状態の鍔部20b、20bに所
定方向から溝幅の広い端部を差し込んで長手方向にスラ
イドさせた時に、当該締結部材3が鍔部20b、20b
に係合して分割カバー部材2を合わせ方向に締め付けて
保持し得るようになっている(第4〜6図参照)。
尚、園側では、上記鍔部20bの傾斜面20b2や、締
結部材3の溝3aを形成している一対の面3b、3cは
、その表面が平滑状とされているが、必要に応じて該表
面に例えば小さな波状の凹凸を形成すればよい。このよ
うにすると、合わせ状態の鍔部20b、20bに取り付
けた締結部材3の緩みを確実に防止することかできる。
また、第8図及び第9図に示すように、該カバー部材2
の鍔部20bの傾斜面20b、と半円筒部20aとの間
に溝部20d120dを設け、これに対応する締結部材
3の傾斜面3b、3cにも隣接して溝部3d、3dを設
けることにより、締結部材3が鍔部20bより外れに<
<シても良い。
しかして、上記のような部材を用いて、本発明工法にお
いては、先ず、第1図に示すように既設管4の被補強部
4aに上記テープIを巻き付け又は接着する。次いで、
そのテープ1の取り付けられている部分を一対の半割状
カバー部材20.20の半円筒部20a、20aで挟持
するようにして両者を互いに合わせることにより、第4
図に示すようにテープ1の外側から既設管4の被補強部
4aを分割カバー部材2で被覆する。この時、半割状カ
バー部材20.20の合わせ部に必要に応じてパツキン
材を介装させてもよい。
次に、その分割カバー部材2の合わせ状態にある鍔部2
0b、20bに締結部材3をその溝幅の広い端部側から
差し込んで第4図矢印aで示す係合方向にスライドさせ
て締め付けることにより、第5.6図に示すように分割
カバー部材2を所定の合わせ状態に保持する。
上記の構成によれば、分割カバー部材2が軸方向に沿っ
て分割された一対の半割状カバー部材20.20によっ
て構成され、しかも該半割状カバー部材20.20を締
結部材3によって容易に合わせ状態に締結・保持するこ
とができるから、既設管4の被補強部4aにゴム状弾性
体でなるテープ1を巻き付け又は接着した後に、そのテ
ープ部分の外側から分割カバー部材2が合わせ状態に簡
単に取り付けられると共に、その合わせ状態の分割カバ
ー部材2が分離しないように締結部材3によって確実に
締結・保持されることになる。この場合において、分割
カバー2を締結部材3で比較的強く締め付けても、テー
プ1が弾力を有するパツキンとして作用するから、既設
管4を傷めることはない。
このようにして既設管4における被補強部4aか、その
外側からテープ1を介して分割カバー部材2で被覆され
た状態となり、それらのテープ1と分割カバー部材2と
で補強されることになる。
また、このようにして補強した後は、分割カバー部材2
と被補強部4aとの間に介在するテープ1がシール材と
して機能することにより、分割カバー部材2と既設管4
との間が確実にシールされるので、この補強部分で漏水
が生じることはない。
更に、特にこの実施例においては、分割カバー部材2の
合わせ状態に締結・保持させる手段として、該カバー部
材2の鍔部20b、20bに締結部材3の端部を差し込
んでスライドさせる構成を採用したから、ボルト等の通
常の締結手段を使用する場合に比べて極めて簡単に上記
分割カバー部材2を締結させることができ、しかもこの
種の締結作業をボルト締め付け工具等の工具がなくても
行うことができる。
尚、第2図に示した分割カバー部材2に代えて、第7図
に示すような分割カバー部材2′を使用してもよい。こ
の分割カバー部材2′は、一対の半割状カバー部材20
’ 20’の一側部を枢支ピン21′で互いに連結
