Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by automatically interrupting the power source for a stan-by unit having redundant configuration upon detection of abnormality in normal power source or in ambient temperature rise of an electronic exchanger. CONSTITUTION:Upon interruption of commercial power source during operation of an electronic exchanger 1, the power interruption is detected immediately through a power source abnormality detecting circuit 7 and transmitted to a main controller 2. When the abnormality of power source continues longer than a predetermined time or when an abnormality detection signal is also provided from a temperature abnormality detecting circuit 8, the main controller 2 confirms the state of system configuration in the electronic exchange 1 and determines a unit which can be disabled through interruption of power source without sacrifice of the function of the electronic exchange 1. Then a control signal for interrupting the power source is fed to a power source switching circuit 10 at the side of stand-by system for each unit which is determined to be disabled. By such arrangement, power consumption of the electronic exchanger 1 can be reduced.

The conventional power consumption control method for electronic exchanges described above operates with the power always on, even for backup devices when a redundant configuration such as a duplex device is used, so it is difficult to stop the air conditioner due to a commercial power outage. Or, the indoor temperature of the exchange room may rise due to a shutdown due to a failure of the air conditioner, and the internal temperature of the equipment due to heat generation within the electronic exchange may rise, making the exchange system inoperable. In calculating the storage battery capacity of the emergency storage battery, the current consumption including the redundant backup device is used, so there is a problem that the storage battery capacity becomes large.

Assume that while the electronic exchange 1 is in operation, the commercial power supply that is regularly used stops. This is immediately detected by the power supply abnormality detection circuit 7 and transmitted to the main control device 2 via the interface device 9. If the power supply abnormality continues for a certain period of time or more, or if the main controller 2 receives an output indicating that an abnormality has been detected from the temperature abnormality detection circuit 8, the main controller 2 immediately controls the electronic exchange R.
The state of the system configuration within the electronic exchange 1 is checked, and a device that can cut off the power and stop the function without degrading the function of the electronic exchange 1 is determined and determined. Next, a control signal is sent to PSlo, which is the standby system of each device whose power is to be cut off and whose functions are to be stopped, to perform a power-off operation. Through this operation, it is possible to reduce the power consumption of the electronic exchange 1, suppress the rise in temperature within the device, and at the same time extend the power supply time by the emergency storage battery. If the fault is recovered and the abnormal state is canceled in this state, the main controller 2 sends a control signal to the PSIO, which sent the control signal to immediately turn off the power, to turn on the power. Send out.

As explained above, when the present invention detects an abnormality in the regular power supply or a temperature abnormality such as a rise in the ambient temperature of the electronic exchange, it automatically turns off the power to the spare equipment that has a redundant configuration. This has the effect of reducing the overall power consumption, reducing the possibility of the exchanger stopping operating due to a rise in the temperature inside the device, and furthermore making it possible to extend the power supply time by the emergency storage battery.
