Description
〔技術分野〕
この発明は、悪臭や異臭を消す消臭剤に関す
る。
〔背景技術〕
一般に、悪臭や異臭としては、工場の排煙や廃
液、および煙草や屎尿、ならびに台所の厨芥等が
発生源となつており、その悪臭や異臭の種類も多
種多様である。特に、家庭内においては、冷暖房
装置の作動時には密室状態に保たれることが多い
ので、これらの悪臭異臭の対策が大きな問題とな
つてきている。
このような悪臭や異臭を消す方法には、大別し
て次の4つの方法がある。
感覚的消臭法…芳香性物質(香料等)によつ
て悪臭や異臭をマスクする方法。
物理的消臭法…換気・拡散によつて悪臭を希
釈,除去するか、あるいは活性炭などを利用し
て臭気を吸着させる方法。
化学的消臭法…悪臭や異臭成分と化学的に反
応(中和,付加,縮合,酸化等)させて無臭化
する方法。
生物的消臭法…腐敗を生起するバクテリアを
滅殺して、腐敗を防止し、悪臭の発生を阻止す
る方法。
の感覚的消臭法は、主に一般家庭で実施され
ている方法で、消臭剤自身の有する香気などによ
つて、悪臭や異臭を消臭するものである。しか
し、この方法では香気と臭気のバランスをとるこ
とが難しく、しかも、消臭剤の有する香気には人
の好みがあつて、時に嫌悪感を催させることがあ
り、一般的な消臭法とは云い難い。の物理的方
法は広く使用されているが、装置化が必要であつ
たり、室温が変動したり、活性炭などでは悪臭や
異臭成分の吸着効果に持続性が無いという問題が
ある。また、化学的消臭法は、多種多様な悪臭
成分に対し、効果的に反応する物質の選定が極め
て困難であり、使用薬剤の取扱いに注意を要する
こともあつて、一般的ではない。さらに、の生
物的消臭法も装置化が必要であり、効果の発現が
遅いという欠点があるなど、各消臭剤に各々一長
一短があるのが現状である。
このような現状に鑑み、使用者らは、それ自身
は無臭で、大がかりな設備も必要としない消臭剤
として、植物中の有効成分を用いることを案出
し、開発を進めた。その間において、対象とする
臭気によつて消臭効果にはばらつきがあることが
分かつた。
〔発明の目的〕
この発明は、上のような事情に鑑みてなされた
ものであつて、それ自身は無臭であり、大がかり
な設備も必要としない消臭剤で、対象臭気を限定
し、それに対しては高い消臭効果を示す消臭剤を
提供することをその目的とする。
〔発明の開示〕
この発明は、硫化水素に対する消臭剤であつ
て、ヒイラギモクセイ,キリ,ツワブキ,シナレ
ンギヨウ,ライラツク,フキ,カキノキ,コナ
ラ,ヤマナラシ,シダおよびコバノトネリコから
なる群の少なくともひとつから抽出された抽出成
分を有効成分とすることを特徴とする消臭剤をそ
の要旨とする。
すなわち、この発明にかかる消臭剤は、ヒイラ
ギモクセイ,キリ,ツワブキ,シナレンギヨウ,
ライラツク,フキ,カキノキ,コナラ,ヤマナラ
シ,シダおよびコバノトネリコからなる群の少な
くともひとつの、樹皮,心材,葉,茎および果実
などを、たとえば水あるいは親水性有機溶媒、あ
るいはそれらの組み合わせで抽出する等して得ら
れ、特に硫化水素に対して消臭効果を有するもの
である。以下に、この発明を詳しく説明する。
この発明の消臭剤の原料としては、ヒイラギモ
クセイ,キリ,ツワブキ,シナレンギヨウ,ライ
ラツク,フキ,カキノキ,コナラ,ヤマナラシ,
シダおよびコバノトネリコの、樹皮,心材,葉,
茎および果実等を使用することができる。
この発明において使用する抽出溶剤としては、
水および親水性有機溶剤、すなわちたとえば、メ
タノール,エタノール,プロパノール等のアルコ
ール類やアセトン,メチルエケトン等のケトン類
などを単独あるいは混合して用いる。
抽出方法は、たとえば水蒸気蒸留法を例にとる
と、前記の原料植物を水蒸気蒸留器にかけ、原料
中から有効成分以外の成分(香気成分)を除去し
て無臭化する。次に、原料残渣物を濾過器にかけ
て濾液を得る。この濾液中には消臭有効成分が含
まれている。したがつて、これを消臭剤としてそ
のまま用いてもよいし、もしくは濃縮して用いて
もよい。しかしながら、消臭成分の抽出法は、上
記の方法に限定されず、前述の熱水抽出後、濾過
して消臭有効成分が得られてもよい。
このようにして得られた消臭剤の使用態様につ
いては、とくに限定するものではないが、液剤、
スプレー型、あるいは担体への含浸,粉末、錠
剤,果粒剤への成型等、用途により多岐にわたつ
て使用されるものである。液状消臭剤として使用
する場合、消臭剤の有効濃度は0.25〜5%の範囲
である。当然のことながら、この範囲では濃度が
高いほど効果,持続性も大きいと言えるが、この
範囲を越えると消臭剤自体の臭いが出現し、消臭
剤としては、不向きとなる。
消臭液には、消臭液の飛散防止あるいは防腐剤
的な役割も加味して、通常、グリセリンやプロピ
レングリコールなどの多価アルコールが添加剤と
して使用される。
この消臭成分は固形状でも使用することができ
る。この場合は、上の消臭液を素焼陶土のような
多孔性(または浸透性)の無機物と混合し、消臭
成分を前記担体表面に吸着させ、これを容器等に
充填して使用したり、あるいは、ゼラチンと混合
して固形体で使用する等の方法がある。
固体の担体表面に吸着させて使用する場合は、
消臭剤と担体の重量比は、(消臭剤):(担体)=10
〜0.1:1の配合が望ましい。
このようにして製品化された消臭剤は、それ自
身無臭で、硫化水素の消臭に、有効かつ迅速に寄
与することができる。
以下、この発明をその実施例にもとづいて説明
する。
実施例 1
ヒイラギモクセイ,キリ,ツワブキ,シナレン
ギヨウ,ライラツク,フキ,カキノキ,コナラ,
ヤマナラシ,シダ,コバノトネリコの葉,および
シナレンギヨウの実より水―メタノールの混合溶
媒を用いて、消臭有効成分を抽出した。これで
1wt%(以下、「%」と略)水溶液を作り消臭剤
とした。
消臭剤の消臭効果をみるために、次のような評
価を行つた。すなわち、以下第1表に示す6段階
臭気レベルの内5に相当する硫化水素の水溶液
に、上記の消臭剤を一定量添加した。その臭気を
10人のパネラーに評価させた。比較例として、消
臭剤の代わりに水を同量添加した場合の臭気も評
価させた。結果は第2表に示す。

同様に測定し、消臭剤添加前後の濃度比より臭気
除去率を求めた。比較のために、前記した本願発
明の原料植物群以外の植物についても、実施例と
同様の方法で消臭剤を製造して臭気除去率を求め
