That is, since the end edge (side edge) of the roof plate is fixed to the base using left and right separate or integrated clip (holding) members, the clip member is fixed and the clip member is fixed. The space between adjacent roof plates remains exposed until the cap is attached to. Therefore, if it rains in that state, rainwater will infiltrate into the roof substrate or indoors, and a curing period for drying will be required, causing a delay in indoor construction. Further, when the clip member is a separate type, the mounting work is doubled as compared with the case of the integrated type clip member. On the other hand, when the clip member is an integral type, the clip member cannot be fixed unless a pair of adjacent roof plates is laid on the base. Further, when the wooden or metal crosspiece is not previously provided on the base, the workability is not good because the roof plate must be laid based on only the marking line.

Further, most of the commercially available thatched roof shingles are long-length timbers that extend over the entire length of the flow of a building.
Since the length is too long, it is inferior in terms of transportability and workability as compared with a horizontal thatched roof plate, which is generally a standard length material of about 5 m. Therefore, it has been desired to commercialize a fixed length material having a length of about 5 m even for the vertical roofing roof plate, and such a constant length vertical roofing plate has already begun to be provided to the market. However, in a roof structure using a fixed-length vertical roofing board, the shapes of the left and right rising portions of the roofing board become complicated in order to improve the rain siding performance. As a result, the processing speed at the time of press-molding the connection part for joining the vertical length of thatched roof plate in the vertical direction (the direction of the eaves) to the upper and lower edges of the roof plate is significantly reduced, and the productivity is reduced. There is a problem that it will decrease and cause price increase.

A trough-shaped drain groove 24 is formed between the rising portion 21 and the wavy overlapping portion 22 by them. The drain groove 24 is covered with the cap 5, and a drain space is formed inside the cap 5 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). Since this drainage space is provided, rainwater or the like that has entered the inside of the cap 5 is guided to the drainage groove 24 and quickly flows down. For example, in the case of a roof, it is drained from the eaves. Waterproof performance can be obtained. Since the drain groove 24 is covered with the cap 5, the influence of the external pressure outside the cap 5 hardly acts on the drain space. Therefore, the amount of water that enters the drainage space is about the amount of blowing and soaking.
