Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease traffic for calling a mobile station from a base station without narrowing a position registration area by successively calling the mobile station from the base station, for which the existence probability of the mobile station is high, when there is call origination to the mobile station in the area where the position of the mobile station is registered. CONSTITUTION:Base stations 21-24 and base stations 31-34 are connected to an exchange station 1 and connected through the exchange station 1 to another communication line network such as a public telephone network. The base stations 21-24 form a position registration area 2 and the base stations 31-34 form a position registration area 3. When there is the call origination to a mobile station 4 inside the position registration area 2 where the position of the mobile station 4 is registered, for example, the mobile station 4 is successively called from the base station, for which the existence probability of the mobile station 4 is high, among the base stations 21-24. Namely, a call originating/terminating condition managing table concerning the mobile station 4 is prepared at the exchange station 1 registering the position of the mobile station 4 and corresponding to this table, the mobile station 4 is successively called from the base station for which the order of call originating/terminating frequency is the first rank, for example.

2. Description of the Related Art Recently, mobile communication such as a car phone and a mobile phone for performing wireless communication between a mobile station and a base station has been popular. In this type of mobile communication, one base station forms one wireless zone, and when a mobile station exists in this wireless zone, the base station in the wireless zone and the mobile station wirelessly communicate with each other.

In a mobile communication network, a large number of such base stations are installed so that a large number of wireless zones are spread over each other to cover a wide area. An exchange is provided for each of the plurality of base stations, and each base station is connected to this exchange and is connected to another communication line network (for example, a public telephone network) via the exchange.

By the way, if the area where the mobile station exists is unknown when a call is made to the mobile station from another telephone or the like, it is necessary to call the mobile station from all the base stations of the mobile communication network. The station performs location registration with respect to the mobile communication network, and is called only from all base stations within the registered location registration area. By doing so, it is possible to reduce the number of base stations that call the mobile station and reduce the traffic that calls the mobile station from the base station (hereinafter referred to as "incoming call traffic").

The location registration of the mobile station is performed by transmitting a location registration signal to the base station in the radio zone in which the mobile station exists. Then, the mobile station is registered in the location registration area to which the base station that received the location registration signal belongs. Since one location registration area is formed by multiple wireless zones, even if the mobile station moves out of the wireless zone in which the location was registered, it is necessary to re-register the location if it is in the location registration area. There is no.

First, when a call is made to a mobile station from another telephone or the like, a search is performed to find the location registration area in which the mobile station is registered (S-1). Then, the incoming call signal is transmitted to all the base stations in the obtained position registration area (S-2). The base station receiving the incoming call signal calls the mobile station by transmitting a calling signal.

As a countermeasure against this, it is conceivable to reduce the load on the switching center and the base station by narrowing the calling area. As described above, in the conventional mobile communication network, the location registration area and the calling area are separated from each other. Since they are the same, if the calling area is narrowed, the location registration area is also narrowed.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention determines the base station in the location registration area from the number of outgoing and incoming call responses that the mobile station has made in the location registration area in the past. A base station having a high probability that the mobile station exists is predicted, and when a call is made to the mobile station, the mobile station is called in order from the base station having a high probability that the mobile station exists.

It is assumed here that the mobile station 4 has moved to another location registration area 2 from another location registration area (not shown). The mobile station 4 transmits a position registration signal to a base station (here, the base station 24) in the wireless zone where the mobile station 4 is currently located. The base station 24 receives this location registration signal and registers the location of the mobile station 4 with the exchange 1.

First, when a call is made to the mobile station 4 from another telephone or the like, a search is performed to find the location registration area in which the mobile station 4 is registered (F-1). Here, the location registration area 2 corresponds. Then, the process proceeds with reference to the call origination / termination status management table (originating / terminating call status management table of FIG. 2) for the mobile station 4 in the obtained location registration area 2.

In the example shown in FIG. 2, since there is no base station name set in the post-registration outgoing / incoming call base station name field, the process proceeds from step (F-2) to step (F-4). And
An incoming call signal is transmitted to the base station in the registration execution base station name column of the outgoing / incoming call status management table (F-4). That is,

Then, an incoming call signal is sent to the base station (the base station 23 in the example of FIG. 2) having the first incoming and outgoing call frequency ranking in the outgoing and incoming call status management table (F-6), and this incoming call signal is sent. The base station 23 receiving the call calls the mobile station 4 by transmitting a call signal. In step (F-10), the call-in signal is sent to all the remaining base stations in the location registration area 24 which have not yet transmitted the call-in signal to the base station. As described above, according to the present invention, a wireless zone with a high probability of existence of a mobile station is estimated, and the mobile station is called in order from the base station of the wireless zone with a high probability of establishment. Therefore, the incoming traffic, that is, the traffic calling the mobile station from the base station can be reduced.

When the mobile station 4 has moved from the position registration area 2 up to that point to the position registration area 3, the mobile station 4 in the position registration area 3 is the same as in the case of the position registration area 2.
The outgoing / incoming call status management table is created, and the same processing is performed.

It should be noted that in this embodiment, the order of frequency of incoming and outgoing calls is 2.
The mobile station is called from all the remaining base stations in the location registration area at the same time when the mobile station is called from the uppermost base stations but no incoming call response is received, but the present invention is not limited to this. Alternatively, the number of base stations to be called may be changed according to the number of base stations in the location registration area. For example, if the number of base stations in the location registration area is 6 or more, the calling and receiving frequency ranking is 4th. The steps from the base station to the call may be sequentially performed.

As described above, according to the present invention,
The mobile station controls to determine the base station to call based on the number of calls and incoming calls that have been made with multiple base stations in the location registration area to which the mobile station belongs. And the incoming traffic can be reduced.

Further, according to the present invention, since incoming traffic can be reduced without narrowing the calling area, it is not necessary to narrow the location registration area, and when the mobile station moves. There is also an effect that it is possible to prevent an increase in traffic for location registration, which is frequent location registration.

6. In a paging control method of mobile communication for calling the mobile station within a location registration area where the mobile station is registered, when a call is made to the mobile station, the mobile station performs the current location registration. When an outgoing call or incoming call response is made later, the base station receiving the outgoing call or incoming call response calls the mobile station, and when there is no incoming call response to the call, the location registration of the mobile station is performed. The base station makes a call to the mobile station from the base station, and when there is no incoming call response to the call, the mobile station makes a call to the mobile station in order from the base station that has made the most number of outgoing calls and incoming call responses. A call control method for mobile communication characterized by the above.
