Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a water purification filter for a water tank which can be continuously used for a long time. CONSTITUTION:A porous silica which envelops a silver antibacterial agent and any appropriate bioactive mineral component and a polymer are mixed previously as a composition. Further, a mixture of the obtained composition, active carbon and zeolite is molded into any desired form using a liquid permeable material such as a fiber or nonwoven cloth. Thus it is possible to prevent the proliferation of microbes or the growth of algae from occurring with the help of the silver antibacterial agent, activate fish and water grass under the effect of a mineral component, remove ammonia by zeolite and adsorb an excretion from fish. Consequently, the long-term use of a water purification filter can be achieved.

2. Description of the Related Art A fish tank has the following water quality stains due to the physiological metabolism of fish, and it is frequently necessary to change and clean it. (1) The water is polluted by fish excrement and residual food, and ammonia that is harmful to fish is generated. (2) Due to the growth of microorganisms, the inner surface of the water tank becomes slimy. (3) Algae and dirt adhere to the inner surface of the water tank. (4) When the water becomes dirty, the body color of fish and the color of aquatic plants become less clear. (5) Water pollution makes fish susceptible to diseases. Conventional measures include a physical filtration method using a filter and a biological filtration method using bacteria, which are used alone or in combination, but only temporary effects can be obtained, so frequent water replacement and cleaning are required. Had to do.

In the physical filtration method, a mat-shaped filter mainly composed of a fibrous web is often used, and the excrement of fish and the residual food are physically filtered by the filter. According to this method, although it is useful for purifying water to some extent, there is a drawback that essential purification of water such as removal of harmful microorganisms, removal of ammonia, and prevention of algae cannot be achieved.

The biological filtration method, which is a technique for rapidly converting harmful ammonia into a safe nitrate using bacteria, is effective in maintaining water quality suitable for fish.
Since the essential solutions of (2), (3), (4) and (5) above were not obtained, and harmful microorganisms could not be removed, frequent water replacement and cleaning were required in the long term.

[0005] Conventionally, as a technique for keeping the water in the water tank clear for a long period of time and maintaining the ornamental effect, there is Jitsukaihei 2-108795. Here, it is disclosed that an antibacterial zeolite is contained in a film made of polyvinyl alcohol and used as a water purification sheet, or a nonwoven fabric or paper is laminated on the sheet and used. Although the use of antibacterial zeolite is expected to purify water by removing harmful microorganisms, this effect cannot be expected because bacteria that have the effect of converting ammonia to nitrate by the direct action of antibacterial zeolite are also killed. .
Therefore, such biological filtration methods could not remove the ammonia produced by fish excrement and residual food. As described above, according to the conventional technique, it has been difficult to maintain clean water quality suitable for fish by an inexpensive method for a long period of time.

[Problems to be solved] In fish tanks, many attempts to prevent algae on the inner surface of the tank will adversely affect fish and aquatic plants, while attempting to remove ammonia by biological filtration using bacteria. If you do so, bacteria that have useful effects will be killed because you use antibacterial agents and bactericides,
It becomes impossible to remove harmful substances. Thus, the stronger the filtration, the better the transparency of the water, but it becomes unsuitable as a fish habitat. That is, the closer the water quality became to pure, the less suitable it was for the habitation of living things. Since there is a conflicting problem in the prior art and it is difficult to solve the essential problem, it is necessary to take a temporary cleaning means as described above. Therefore, water replacement and cleaning were frequently repeated every 1 to 2 weeks, and it was not possible to escape from the complexity of water replacement.

According to the present invention, since complicated water quality stains due to physiological metabolism of fish can be improved at once, it becomes possible to maintain clean water quality for a long period of time and frequently change water. I no longer need to clean it. Furthermore, by adding a mineral component to the liquid-permeable material as needed and continuously supplying a minute amount of this component, fish and aquatic plants were activated. The provision of the purified water filter of the present invention has the advantages that the feeding of fish is improved, the swimming of fish becomes active, and the body color of fish becomes clear.

According to the present invention, a silver antibacterial agent is preliminarily encapsulated in silica together with an appropriate bioactive mineral component, and this is compounded with a polymer to prevent chelate binding of silver and release silver ions. It can be performed stably.
Moreover, since the concentration of silver ions in water can be maintained at 10 to 40 ppb, it has been possible to prevent the growth of microorganisms and the generation of algae without adversely affecting fish. Furthermore, since the encapsulated mineral components are gradually released into the water in silica,
It can also give activity to fish and aquatic plants. Ammonia is removed by zeolite, and residual food, fish excrement, etc. are adsorbed and removed by activated carbon, so that the above-mentioned conventional problems can be solved at once.

When the temperature of the water in the water tank rises to, for example, 20 ° C. or more, the water quality becomes significantly dirty even if a filter is used, and it usually requires water replacement and cleaning within 1 to 2 weeks. According to the present invention, microorganisms can be removed by keeping the silver ion concentration in water at 10 to 40 ppb, ammonia can be adsorbed and removed by zeolite, and organic impurities can be adsorbed and removed by activated carbon. Even if the water is clear, it is clean. Further, when a bioactive mineral component is used, by continuously releasing a small amount of the mineral component contained in the polymer, it is possible to give activity to fish and aquatic organisms and maintain the water quality suitable for habitation. Therefore, there is no need for water change and cleaning, which have been frequently performed in the past.

As the silver antibacterial agent, one or more selected from silver complex salts, silver oxide, fine silver and silver zeolite is used by being contained in porous silica in an amount of 1% to 50%. In the method of encapsulating in a porous silica, the silver antibacterial agent is dispersed in an aqueous solution of silica sol and spray-dried for encapsulation. When a mineral component is used, silica sol for encapsulating the mineral component in porous silica is mixed with mineral water containing a mineral component essential for maintaining the living body and spray-dried for encapsulation. By encapsulating the mineral component in porous silica by encapsulation, the mineral component is not eluted all at once in water, and sustained release is continued to further exert the effect. As for the mineral component, it is sufficient that the mineral component essential for the maintenance of the living body is slightly contained in the aquarium as a trace element. On the contrary, it is not good for the organism to release a large amount into the water all at once.

By encapsulating the silver antibacterial agent with porous silica, the silver compound and silver as an antibacterial agent are supported on the porous silica, chelate bond with the polymer is prevented, and the release of silver ions is stabilized. Can be The silver antibacterial agent is added to the polymer in an amount of 1% to 40%, preferably 2% to 10%. When used without encapsulation, the silver antibacterial agent is directly incorporated into the polymer by melt mixing of the polymer, so that the activity of silver is reduced and the release amount of silver ion is also reduced. As the polymer, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, polyvinyl chloride, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer can be used.

Next, 10% of the powder and granules were melt-mixed with polyethylene by an extruder to obtain pellets having a diameter of 2 mm and a length of 2 mm. 20 g of the pellets, 45 g of activated carbon and 45 g of natural zeolite are mixed and put between two PP non-woven fabrics.
A water purification filter of the present invention was obtained by thermoforming into a sheet of 280 mm x 100 mm x 10 mm thick. As a result of setting the purified water filter in an upper pumping type filtration filter of a water tank having a capacity of 78 L, the concentration of silver ions in the water in the water tank was 11 ppb, and the water tank was clear and clean even after 3 months passed. The color of aquatic plants was clear and they grew well. The results were the same as those in Examples 1 and 2 even when the mineral alter was not used.

EFFECT OF THE INVENTION Since the silver antibacterial agent encapsulated in silica is blended with the polymer, silver ions can be gradually released into water to prevent the growth of microorganisms and the generation of algae without adversely affecting fish. Further, when a bioactive mineral component is required, the mineral component encapsulated in silica is gradually released, so that the fish or aquarium can be activated.
Further, since the zeolite removes the ammonia and the activated carbon can adsorb the residual feed and the excrement of the fish, the habitat of the fish in the aquarium can be significantly improved.
