Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a bathing agent composition, capable of preventing foaming in use, especially in reboiling and additional cooking without impairing preservation stability and solubility in a bathing agent for emulsifying and clouding an oily ingredient with a surfactant in bath water. CONSTITUTION:A bathing agent containing an oily ingredient which is a liquid at ordinary temperature, a nonionic surfactant having 2-14 HLB and a higher fatty acid or its salt which is a solid at ordinary temperature. A branched higher alcohol which is a liquid at ordinary temperature is preferably added to the above-mentioned composition. Thereby, the higher fatty acid or its salt is prevented from depositing at low temperatures.

[Prior art and its problems] Bath additives that give the bath water an emulsified appearance when used have been developed for the purpose of creating a hot spring feeling or imparting skin care effects. There are two types of emulsification methods: one in which a clouding agent is added and dispersed in bath water, and the other in which oil is emulsified in bath water to make it cloudy. In the former emulsification method, powdered or tablet-shaped bath additives based on inorganic salts are mainly used, but because the specific gravity of clouding agents such as titanium oxide is generally high, when dissolved in hot water, it tends to deteriorate over time. The whitening agent not only settles and reduces the whiteness of the bath water, but also has the disadvantage that when the bath water is dropped, the clouding agent accumulates at the bottom of the bathtub, causing problems in cleaning the bath water. On the other hand, in the latter emulsification method, a liquid or gel-like substance consisting of an oil that is liquid at room temperature and a surfactant to emulsify it, or a substance encapsulated in a capsule, is used. By appropriately selecting the type and amount of the emulsion, it is possible to easily uniformly emulsify the emulsion when added to the bath water, and to create a bath water with a cloudy appearance. What's more, the blended oil remains on the skin, giving it an emollient effect on the entire body. The key point in the development of this type of bath additive is the relationship between oil and surfactants, and several studies have been conducted on them (JP-A-52-70028, JP-A-61
-227519, JP-A-1-238518, JP-A-2-
91016). However, in the case of this bath additive, there is a problem in that the surfactant causes foaming during use, especially when the bath water is reboiled or reheated.

In the present invention, in order to solve the problem of foaming caused by nonionic surfactants during use, higher fatty acids or salts thereof that are solid at room temperature are blended. As higher fatty acids, those having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, such as lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, etc., are usually used. On the other hand, higher fatty acid salts include sodium salt,
Potassium salts, calcium salts, magnesium salts, etc. are used, but any salt can be used as long as it is soluble in bath water. From the viewpoint of solubility in bath water and ease of commercialization, it is preferable to use sodium salts and potassium salts. The blending amount of higher fatty acids and their salts is 0.1 to 5% by weight,
Preferably it is 0.5 to 3% by weight. Further, when using a higher fatty acid salt, the higher fatty acid and an alkali may be used together and reacted at the time of blending. As alkalis, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide,
Inorganic alkalis such as magnesium hydroxide and their aqueous solutions,
Examples include amines such as triethanolamine and triisopropanolamine. The amount of alkali added is 0.01
-7% by weight, preferably 0.1-5% by weight.

Effects of the Invention The bath additive composition of the present invention is in the form of a transparent liquid and is used by being added to bath water. has a uniform cloudy appearance. In the composition of the present invention, since a higher fatty acid or a salt thereof is used in conjunction with the use of a specific nonionic surfactant, foaming is prevented during reboiling of bath water or during additional cooking. Furthermore, products to which branched higher alcohols that are liquid at room temperature are added have good storage stability because precipitation of higher fatty acids and their salts at low temperatures is prevented.
