Description
本出願は、2019年9月30日付の韓国特許出願第10-2019-0121050号および2020年9月7日付の韓国特許出願第10-2020-0113937号に基づく優先権の利益を主張し、当該韓国特許出願の文献に開示されたすべての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
内部架橋剤の存在下、少なくとも一部が中和された酸性基を有する水溶性エチレン系不飽和単量体を架橋重合して、第1架橋重合体を含む含水ゲル重合体を形成する段階(段階1);
前記含水ゲル重合体を乾燥、粉砕および分級してベース樹脂粉末を形成する段階(段階2);
表面架橋液の存在下、前記ベース樹脂粉末を熱処理して表面架橋して高吸水性樹脂粒子を形成する段階(段階3);および
前記高吸水性樹脂粒子に塩水を添加する段階(段階4)を含み、
前記塩水の伝導度は、15~55mS/cmである、
高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
前記段階1は、内部架橋剤の存在下、少なくとも一部が中和された酸性基を有する水溶性エチレン系不飽和単量体を架橋重合して、第1架橋重合体を含む含水ゲル重合体を形成する段階である。
R1-COOM1
R1は、不飽和結合を含む炭素数2~5のアルキル基であり、
M1は、水素原子、1価または2価金属、アンモニウム基または有機アミン塩である。
前記段階2は、前記段階1で製造した含水ゲル重合体を乾燥、粉砕および分級してベース樹脂粉末を形成する段階であって、ベース樹脂粉末およびこれから得られる高吸水性樹脂は、150~850μmの粒径を有するように製造および提供されることが適切である。より具体的には、前記ベース樹脂粉末およびこれから得られる高吸水性樹脂の少なくとも95重量%以上が150~850μmの粒径を有し、150μm未満の粒径を有する微粉が3重量%未満になる。このように前記ベース樹脂粉末および高吸水性樹脂の粒径分布が好ましい範囲に調節されることによって、最終的に製造された高吸水性樹脂がすでに上述した物性をより良く発現することができる。
前記段階3は、前記段階2で製造したベース樹脂の表面を架橋する段階であって、表面架橋剤を含む表面架橋液の存在下、前記ベース樹脂粉末を熱処理して表面架橋して高吸水性樹脂粒子を形成する段階である。
前記段階4は、先に製造した高吸水性樹脂粒子に塩水を添加する段階である。
上述した製造方法により製造された高吸水性樹脂は、微細粒子が除去されることによって、水分などの吸収時にかたまりが抑制され、また、水分吸収過程で高吸水性樹脂本来の物性が阻害されずに維持されることが可能である。
高吸水性樹脂の製造装置としては、重合工程、含水ゲル粉砕工程、乾燥工程、粉砕工程、分級工程、表面架橋工程、冷却工程、分級工程、および各工程を連結する輸送工程で構成される連続製造装置を用いた。
アクリル酸100重量部に、内部架橋剤としてポリエチレングリコールジアクリレート(重量平均分子量:~500g/mol)0.4重量部とヘキサンジオールジアクリレート0.1重量部、および光開始剤としてIRGACURE819 0.01重量部を混合して単量体溶液を製造した。次に、前記単量体溶液を定量ポンプで連続供給しながら、同時に24重量%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液160重量部を連続的にラインミキシングして単量体水溶液を製造した。この時、中和熱によって前記単量体水溶液の温度が約72℃以上に上昇したことを確認した後、温度が40℃に冷却されるのを待った。
前記段階1で製造した含水ゲル重合体を3cm×3cmの大きさに切断した後、円筒形粉砕機の内部に装着されたスクリュー型押出機を用いて、前記含水ゲルを複数のホールが形成された多孔板で押し出しながら粉砕(chopping)した。
前記段階2で製造したベース樹脂100重量部を、水3重量部、メタノール3重量部、エチレンカーボネート0.5重量部を混合した架橋剤溶液と混合した後、180℃で40分間表面架橋反応させた。
前記段階3で得られた生成物を90℃に冷却させた後、スポイトを用いて、前記生成物100重量部に対して1重量部の塩水(Na2CO3 5%水溶液)を投入した。以後、撹拌状態を維持し、15~25分間さらに撹拌/冷却を進行させた後、粒径が150~850μmの表面架橋された高吸水性樹脂粒子を得た。最終的に回収した高吸水性樹脂粒子の温度は40℃であった。
前記実施例1の段階4において、Na2CO3 5%水溶液の代わりにNaCl2%水溶液を用いることを除けば、前記実施例1と同様の方法で高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
前記実施例1の段階4において、Na2CO3 5%水溶液の代わりにMg(CH3COO)2 5%水溶液を用いることを除けば、前記実施例1と同様の方法で高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
前記実施例1の段階4を省略することを除けば、前記実施例1と同様の方法で高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
前記実施例1の段階4において、Na2CO3 5%水溶液の代わりに蒸留水を用いることを除けば、前記実施例1と同様の方法で高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
前記実施例1の段階4において、Na2CO3 5%水溶液の代わりにNaCl0.5%水溶液を用いることを除けば、前記実施例1と同様の方法で高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
前記実施例1の段階4において、Na2CO3 5%水溶液の代わりにNa2CO3 10%水溶液を用いることを除けば、前記実施例1と同様の方法で高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
前記製造した高吸水性樹脂に対して、下記の方法により物性を測定した。
実施例および比較例で製造された高吸水性樹脂それぞれ30gを用意し、高吸水性樹脂のdustの程度をレーザで測定できるDustview II(Palas GmbH製作)を用いて、dust値を測定、分析した。小さい粒子と特定の物質が太い粒より遅い速度で落ちるため、dust numberは下記の数式1により計算した。

実施例および比較例で製造した高吸水性樹脂粒子を、710μmのメッシュ(製造会社:Retsch)を用いて、Amp.1.0mmの条件で10分間分級を進行させた後、メッシュ上端の残留物の比率(重量比)を計算した。
各樹脂の無荷重下吸水倍率による保水能を、EDANA WSP241.3により測定した。
CRC(g/g)={[W2(g)-W1(g)]/W0(g)}-1
各樹脂の0.7psiの加圧吸水能を、EDANA法WSP242.3により測定した。また、加圧吸水能の測定時には、前記CRC測定時の樹脂分級粉を用いた。
AAP(g/g)=[W4(g)-W3(g)]/W0(g)
前記実施例および比較例により製造した高吸水性樹脂に対して、下記の数式3により通液性を測定した。
Perm=[20mL/T1(秒)]×60秒
Permは、高吸水性樹脂の通液性であり、
T1は、シリンダに高吸水性樹脂0.2gを入れて、前記高吸水性樹脂が完全に浸るように生理食塩水(0.9重量%の塩化ナトリウム水溶液)を注いで、前記高吸水性樹脂を30分間膨潤させた後、0.3psiの圧力下、20mLの生理食塩水が膨潤した高吸水性樹脂を通過するのにかかる時間(秒)である。
実施例および比較例の高吸水性樹脂に対して、国際特許第1987/003208号に記載された方法に準じて、秒単位で吸水速度を測定した。
Claims (6)
- 内部架橋剤の存在下、少なくとも一部が中和された酸性基を有する水溶性エチレン系不飽和単量体を架橋重合して、第1架橋重合体を含む含水ゲル重合体を形成する段階(段階1);
前記含水ゲル重合体を乾燥、粉砕および分級してベース樹脂粉末を形成する段階(段階2);
表面架橋液の存在下、前記ベース樹脂粉末を熱処理して表面架橋して高吸水性樹脂粒子を形成する段階(段階3);および
前記高吸水性樹脂粒子に塩水を添加する段階(段階4)を含み、
前記塩水は、Na 2 CO 3 、NaCl、またはMg(CH 3 COO) 2 の水溶液であり、
前記塩水の伝導度は、常温(25℃)で15~55mS/cmである、

M1は、水素原子、1価または2価金属、アンモニウム基または有機アミン塩である。 - 前記内部架橋剤は、N,N’-メチレンビスアクリルアミド、トリメチロールプロパントリ(メタ)アクリレート、エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、プロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ブタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ブチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ジエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ヘキサンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、トリエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、トリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、テトラエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ジペンタエリスリトールペンタアクリレート、グリセリントリ(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタエリスリトールテトラアクリレート、トリアリールアミン、エチレングリコールジグリシジルエーテル、プロピレングリコール、グリセリン、およびエチレンカーボネートからなる群より選択される1種以上を含む、
請求項1または2に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。 - 前記段階3は、180~250℃で行われる、
