Description
第1の実施例において、「Corning」「Gorilla」Glass(コード2318)の4インチ×4インチ(約10cm×約10cm)×0.7mmのガラス板に、6時間に亘り460℃で100%のKNO3の溶融塩浴におけるイオン交換を施し、その後、6時間に亘り455℃で空気中のアニールを行った。
第2の実施例において、「Corning」「Gorilla」Glass(コード2318)の1100×500mm×0.7mmのいくつかのガラス板に、9.5時間に亘り420℃で100%のKNO3の溶融塩浴におけるイオン交換を施した。これにより、各ガラス板に、約630MPaの初期圧縮応力(iCS)および約57μmの圧縮層の初期深さ(iDOL)が生じた。ガラス板の内の2枚はアニールせず、PVBを使用して互いに貼り合わせた。ガラス板の内の10枚を、10時間に亘り420℃で空気中においてアニールし、この10枚の板の対を、PVBを使用して互いに貼り合わせた。このアニールにより、各ガラス板において、約290MPaの最終圧縮応力(fCS)および約92μmの圧縮層の最終深さ(fDOL)が生じた。
上述したように、イオン交換ガラス工程およびアニール工程の条件は、ガラス表面での所望の圧縮応力(CS)、圧縮層の所望の深さ(DOL)、および所望の中央張力(CT)を達成するために調節される。そのような特徴の全てが重要であるが、イオン交換工程は、特に、圧縮層の深さ(DOL)に向けられる。
上述した実施の形態の1つ以上の利点として、以下の内の1つ以上が含まれることがある:非強化ガラスと比べて、改善された残留強度および耐衝撃性;ガラスの従来の熱的焼き戻しと比べて、比較的高い圧縮応力および薄ガラスとのより高い適合性;標準的な単一工程イオン交換技法と比べて、比較的深い圧縮層の深さ;および減少したサイクル時間および費用がそれほどかからない資本設備要件のために、従来の単一工程イオン交換プロセスと比べて、比較的深いDOLを達成するための著しく安いコスト。例えば、混合アルカリ浴(例えば、50%のKNO3+50%のNaNO3)における新規のイオン交換プロセスで、より安い加工費が達成される。特に、より低いCSを達成するために、ナトリウム含有浴を使用できるが、拡散速度が対応して減少するので、比較的深いDOLに達する時間が著しく増加してしまう。

- 積層構造において、

前記第1のガラス層が、1.5mm以下の厚さ、80μm以上の圧縮応力の層の深さ(DOL)及び48MPa未満の中央張力(CT)を有する化学強化ガラスから構成されており、

- 前記第1および第2のガラス層の厚さが異なる、請求項1記載の積層構造。
- 前記第1および第2のガラス層の組成が異なる、請求項1記載の積層構造。
- 前記中間膜に隣接した前記第1のガラス層の表面が酸エッチングされている、請求項1記載の積層構造。
