図1には、実施形態1の表示装置1の平面図が示され、図2には、図1に示されるII−II線における断面図が示されている。図1および図2に示されるように、表示装置1は、可撓性を有する基板2と、基板2の上にマトリクス状に配列された複数の表示素子(画素)3aを備える表示パネル3と、表示パネル3の基板2が載置された表面5aを備える支持部材5と、表示パネル3を縁取るように表示パネル3の外縁(図1では破線3bで示されている)に沿って設けられていて支持部材5の表面5aに表示パネル3を保持する保持部材4と、を備えている。保持部材4は、表示パネル3の外縁の一部または全部に設けられる。図1の例では、保持部材4は、表示パネル3の外縁の全部に、すなわち、表示パネル3の外縁に沿ってその外周の全周に渡って設けられており、全体として枠状の形状を有している。枠状の形状を有する保持部材4の内側に表示パネル3の複数の表示素子3aが露出している。そして保持部材4の内側に所望の画像が表示される。保持部材4は、表示パネル3の外周部と係合し、かつ、支持部材5の表面5aに接合されている。そして、表示パネル3の基板2が、保持部材4と支持部材5の表面5aとの間の接着強度よりも弱い強度で支持部材5の表面5aに密着している。

実施形態1の表示装置の製造方法について図12A〜図12Cおよび図13を参照して説明する。
本発明の態様1の構成によると、支持部材に固定されて用いられる表示パネルを容易に支持部材から取り外すことができる。

Claims (19)
- 可撓性を有する基板の上にマトリクス状に配列された複数の表示素子を備える表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルの前記基板が載置された表面を備える支持部材と、
前記表示パネルを縁取るように前記表示パネルの外縁に沿って前記外縁の一部または全部に設けられていて前記支持部材の前記表面に前記表示パネルを保持する保持部材と、を備え、
前記保持部材は、前記表示パネルの外周部と係合し、かつ、前記支持部材の前記表面に接合されており、
前記基板が、前記保持部材と前記支持部材の前記表面との間の接着強度よりも弱い強度で前記支持部材の前記表面に密着しており、
前記保持部材は前記表示パネルを前記外縁の全周に渡って囲む枠状の形状を有しており、
前記保持部材は、前記保持部材における前記枠状の形状の内側および外側に通じる貫通孔または溝と、前記貫通孔または前記溝による通気を防ぐ閉塞部材とを備えている、表示装置。 - 粘着剤から構成される弱粘着層を前記基板と前記支持部材との間にさらに備え、
前記基板は前記弱粘着層を介して前記支持部材の前記表面に密着している、請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記支持部材の前記表面が二次曲面であり、
前記弱粘着層の厚さが、前記二次曲面における湾曲形状に基づいて変化している、請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 可撓性を有する基板の上にマトリクス状に配列された複数の表示素子を備える表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルの前記基板が載置された表面を備える支持部材と、
前記表示パネルを縁取るように前記表示パネルの外縁に沿って前記外縁の一部または全部に設けられていて前記支持部材の前記表面に前記表示パネルを保持する保持部材と、を備え、
前記保持部材は、前記表示パネルの外周部と係合し、かつ、前記支持部材の前記表面に接合されており、
前記基板が、前記保持部材と前記支持部材の前記表面との間の接着強度よりも弱い強度で前記支持部材の前記表面に密着しており、
粘着剤から構成される弱粘着層を前記基板と前記支持部材との間にさらに備え、
前記基板は前記弱粘着層を介して前記支持部材の前記表面に密着しており、
前記支持部材の前記表面が二次曲面であり、
前記弱粘着層の厚さが、前記二次曲面における湾曲形状に基づいて変化している、表示装置。 - 前記表示素子と前記基板との間および前記表示素子の上に、非透湿性の材料を用いて形成されたバリア膜をさらに備える、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記バリア膜の水蒸気透過度が、10-4g/m2/日以下である、請求項5に記載の表示装置。
- 前記表示素子と前記基板との間に前記バリア膜として第一バリア膜が形成されており、
前記第一バリア膜が、窒化ケイ素膜と酸化ケイ素膜とを含む多層膜である、請求項5または6に記載の表示装置。 - 前記表示素子の上に前記バリア膜として第二バリア膜が形成されており、
前記第二バリア膜が、窒化ケイ素膜または窒化酸化ケイ素膜と、有機材料から構成される有機膜とを含む多層膜である、請求項5〜7のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第二バリア膜が、前記窒化ケイ素膜または前記窒化酸化ケイ素膜と前記有機膜との間に酸化ケイ素膜をさらに含んでいる、請求項8に記載の表示装置。
- 前記弱粘着層と、前記基板および前記支持部材のいずれかまたは両方との密着強度が、0.02N/10mm以上、5.0N/10mm以下である、請求項2〜9のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記弱粘着層に接合されていて前記弱粘着層の粘着力以上の粘着力を有している強粘着層を前記基板と前記支持部材との間にさらに備えている、請求項2〜10のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記強粘着層と、前記基板または前記支持部材との密着強度が5.0N/10mm以上、20N/10mm以下である、請求項11に記載の表示装置。
- 前記強粘着層が前記弱粘着層と前記基板との間に備えられており、
前記弱粘着層と、前記支持部材との密着強度が、0.02N/10mm以上、5.0N/10mm以下である、請求項11または12に記載の表示装置。 - 前記保持部材と前記支持部材の前記表面との間の接着強度が5.0N/10mmよりも大きく、10N/10mm以下である、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置
- 前記表示パネルが、透光性の材料を用いて形成された透明有機EL表示パネルである、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記保持部材が透光性の材料を用いて形成され、かつ、透光性の接着剤を用いて前記支持部材の前記表面に接合されている、請求項1〜15のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記支持部材が自動車のフロントガラスである、請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記表示パネルに駆動信号を供給するドライバと前記表示パネルとを接続する配線をさらに備え、
前記配線は、その一端において前記表示パネルに接合され、かつ、前記一端と反対の端部において、前記ドライバに備えられたコネクタに適合すべく設けられた端子を備えている、請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 可撓性を有する基板の上にマトリクス状に配列された複数の表示素子を備える表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルを縁取るように前記表示パネルの外縁に沿って前記外縁の一部または全部に設けられている保持部材と、を備え、
前記保持部材は可撓性を有すると共に前記基板よりも高い剛性を有しており、
前記基板における前記表示素子に向く面の反対面に、粘着剤から構成される弱粘着層が形成されている、表示装置。
