The present invention relates to a lighting device.

Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H10-228707 includes a lighting unit including a light source unit, a light guide, an upper case, and a lower case, and the lighting unit is fixed to a garnish body and covered with a protective plate. It is disclosed.
Here, the transparent upper case is formed with a first convex portion constituting a character.
The vehicle lighting device is attached to the outside of an appropriate installation location of the vehicle (for example, the upper surface of the side sill of the door opening, the door lining, the interior panel, the outer surface or the inner surface of the tailgate).

ここで、発光部材は、EL(Electro Luminescence)素子やLED(Light Emitting Diode)などから構成されている。

特許第4961006号公報Japanese Patent No. 4961006 特開昭63−110046号公報JP 63-110046 A

The vehicle illumination device of Patent Document 1 is attached to the outside of the installation location of the vehicle, and not only the illumination part that actually emits light, but also the protective plate is exposed. There is a problem of detracting from the aesthetic appearance.

In the technique of Patent Document 1, when the garnish main body is made thin, it is necessary to reduce the thickness of the illumination section.
However, if the thickness of the illumination part is reduced, the first convex part of the upper case is also thinned. Therefore, the depth of the upper case visible from the outside through the first convex part is impaired, and the inside of the illumination part is externally provided. Since it becomes easy to see, there exists a possibility that the designability may fall.

In the technique of Patent Document 2, the light emitting member is attached to the first recess on the back surface of the automotive exterior product, and the light emitting member does not protrude from the front surface side of the automotive exterior product, so that the appearance of the vehicle is not impaired. .
However, since the light emitting member is directly mounted and fixed in the mounting recess of the automotive exterior product, the light emitting member is easily viewed directly, and is more designable than the technique of Patent Document 1 including the light guide and the first convex portion. There is a problem of being inferior.

The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an illuminating device excellent in design without impairing the appearance of the exterior member.

As a result of intensive studies in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present inventors have arrived at each aspect of the present invention as follows.

<First aspect>
The first aspect is
A light source that emits light;
A lens having convex portions formed on the surface side;
An illumination device including an exterior member through which an insertion hole is formed,
The light source is located on the back side of the lens,
The convex part is inserted into the insertion hole from the back side of the exterior member and protrudes from the front side of the exterior member,
A straight line connecting the edge of the insertion hole on the surface side of the exterior member and the light source does not pass through the tip of the convex portion.

In the first aspect, the light source and the lens are provided on the back surface side of the exterior member, and the convex portion of the lens is inserted into the insertion hole from the back surface side of the exterior member and protrudes from the front surface side of the exterior member.
That is, since the illumination device of the first aspect is not attached to the outside of the installation location of the article to which the illumination device is attached, it is possible to prevent the appearance of the article and the exterior member from being impaired.

In the first aspect, since the convex portion of the lens is inserted into the insertion hole from the back surface side of the exterior member and protrudes from the front surface side of the exterior member, the thickness of the convex portion is increased by the thickness of the exterior member. In addition to increasing the depth of the lens that can be seen from the outside through the convex portion, it is difficult to see the back side of the lens from the outside, so that excellent design can be realized.

In addition, in the first aspect, since the straight line connecting the edge portion of the insertion hole on the surface side of the exterior member and the light source does not pass through the tip portion of the convex portion, the light source is externally passed through the tip portion of the convex portion. Can be surely prevented, and the design can be further improved.

<Second aspect>
A 2nd situation is provided with the decoration member which has the light-shielding property which surrounds the tip part of a convex part in the 1st situation.
When the decorative member having the light shielding property is not provided, the light emitted to the side of the convex portion of the lens is irradiated on the surface side of the exterior member, and the surface of the exterior member is illuminated by the emitted light. The visibility of the convex portion is hindered by unnecessary light of the exterior member.
However, in the second aspect, the light emitted to the side of the convex portion of the lens is irradiated on the surface side of the exterior member by the decorative member having a light shielding property. It becomes possible to prevent the visibility of a convex part from being impeded by the surface of an exterior member being illuminated, and the visibility of a convex part can be improved.

<Third aspect>
A third aspect includes a reflective layer formed on the inner wall surface of the decorative member in the first aspect or the second aspect.
In the third lighting device 10, the light radiated to the side of the convex portion of the lens is reflected by the reflective layer on the inner wall surface of the decorative member and returned to the convex portion, and then radiated from the upper end portion of the convex portion. For this reason, it becomes possible to improve the brightness of the convex portion and improve the visibility of the convex portion.

<Fourth aspect>
In a first aspect to a third aspect, a fourth aspect includes a reflective layer formed on the outer wall surface of the decorative member.
In the 4th situation, since a convex part can be made conspicuous by the reflective layer of the outer wall surface of a decoration member, design nature can be raised further.

<5th aspect>
The fifth aspect is the first aspect or the second aspect,
A first reflective layer formed on the inner wall surface of the decorative member;
A second reflective layer formed on the outer wall surface of the decorative member,
The first reflective layer and the second reflective layer are plated layers made of the same material.
In the fifth aspect, since the first reflective layer and the second reflective layer can be manufactured simultaneously by a single plating step, the cost can be reduced.

<Sixth aspect>
In a sixth aspect, in the first to fifth aspects, the tip of the decorative member protrudes beyond the tip of the convex portion.
In the sixth aspect, since the distal end portion of the decorative member protects the distal end portion of the convex portion from being scratched, the operations and effects of the first to fourth aspects can be reliably obtained.

<Seventh aspect>
In a seventh aspect, in the first to sixth aspects, the lens is colored and transparent.
In the seventh aspect, the depth of the lens seen from the outside through the convex portion is further increased, and the back side of the lens is further hardly seen from the outside, so that the design can be further improved.

<Eighth aspect>
In an eighth aspect, in the first to seventh aspects, the convex portion constitutes a character code.
In the eighth aspect, the design of the lighting device can be further improved.

<9th aspect>
In a ninth aspect, the first to eighth aspects include a housing in which the light source is accommodated, and the outer peripheral edge portion of the lens and the outer peripheral edge portion of the housing are joined in a liquid-tight state.
In the ninth aspect, since it is possible to prevent the liquid from entering the housing, the light source is not exposed to the liquid, and particularly when the illumination device is used outdoors (for example, when used for a vehicle exterior member). ) Can improve waterproofness.

<10th aspect>
According to a tenth aspect, in the first to ninth aspects, the lens has a plate-shaped main body portion and a convex portion protruding in a thickness direction from the surface side of the main body portion, and between the light source and the main body portion. The plate-shaped light guide body arrange | positioned in is provided.

In the tenth aspect, the emitted light of the light source is incident on the light guide 60 with the back surface of the light guide as the incident surface, diffused in the entire surface direction of the light guide and guided, and The light is emitted with the surface as the emission surface.
The light emitted from the light guide is incident on the lens with the back surface of the lens as the incident surface, and is emitted from the convex portion of the lens protruding from the insertion hole of the exterior member.
Accordingly, in the tenth aspect, since the lens can be formed in a plate shape with a large area, and a plurality of convex portions can be formed, the functions and effects of the first aspect and the eighth aspect are further enhanced. be able to.

<Eleventh aspect>
According to an eleventh aspect, in the first to ninth aspects, the lens has a plate-like main body portion and a convex portion protruding in a thickness direction from the surface side of the main body portion, and the main body portion emits light from the light source. It is a light guide that diffuses light in the surface direction and guides light.

The housing 70 has a box shape with an upper surface opened, and includes a housing recess 71 formed in the bottom surface portion of the housing 70 and a connection portion 72 that connects the outer peripheral edge of the housing 70 and the housing recess 71. And is integrally formed by injection molding of a synthetic resin material.
Further, the upper end surface of the outer peripheral edge portion of the housing 70 is bonded and fixed to the back surface side of the outer peripheral edge portion of the main body 41 of the lens 40 so as to be in a liquid-tight state.
The housing 70 is fixedly attached to the back side of the garnish 20.

As a method for joining and fixing the housing 70 and the lens 40, any method (for example, screwing, bonding, ultrasonic welding, etc.) may be used as long as a good liquid-tight state can be obtained.
In addition, as a method for fixing the housing 70 and the garnish 20, any method (for example, a method using a mounting bracket, screwing, adhesion, or the like) may be used as long as a secure fixing state can be obtained.

The light emitting members 81 and 82 having the same configuration include an LED 83 and a wiring board 84 on which the LED 83 is mounted.
The LED 83 may be replaced with any light source (for example, a semiconductor light emitting element such as an EL element, a light bulb, or the like).

[How to assemble lighting device 10]
To assemble the lighting device 10, first, the light emitting members 81, 82 are accommodated in the housing recesses 71 of the housing 70 and fixed so that the LEDs 83 of the light emitting members 81, 82 face the opening side of the housing 70.
Then, a connector (not shown) formed on the housing 70 and a connection terminal (not shown) of the light emitting members 81 and 82 are connected by a connection cable (not shown) disposed in the housing recess 71.

Next, the light guide 60 is accommodated in the housing 70 so that the concave portions 61 and 62 of the light guide 60 face outward, and the back surface side of the outer peripheral edge of the light guide 60 is connected to the connection portion 72 of the housing 70. It is made to contact with the inner wall surface.
Subsequently, the sheet material 50 is attached onto the surface of the light guide 60, and the light guide 60 and the sheet material 50 having the same size and shape in plan view are overlapped without misalignment.

Then, the lens 40 is attached to the opening side of the housing 70 so that the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 face outward, and the upper end surface of the outer peripheral edge portion of the housing 70 and the outer side of the main body portion 41 of the lens 40. Joining and fixing the back surface side of the peripheral edge.
Then, the sheet material 50 and the light guide 60 are sandwiched and fixed between the back surface side of the main body portion 41 of the lens 40 and the inner wall surface of the connection portion 72 of the housing 70. The light guide 60 is positioned at the set position (see FIG. 1C).
As a result, the lens 40, the sheet material 50, the light guide 60, and the housing 70 are integrated.

Thereafter, the decorative member 30 is attached to the lens 40, and the insertion holes 32 to 34 of the decorative member 30 are inserted into the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40.
Here, after the insertion of the insertion holes 32 to 34 into the convex portions 42 to 44 is made smooth, the upper surface side of the main body portion 41 of the lens 40 and the lower surface side of the main body portion 31 of the decorative member 30 are substantially in close contact with each other. In addition, the dimensions of the lens 40 and the decorative member 30 are set.

Then, the housing 70 is attached and fixed to the garnish 20 in a state where the edge portions 35 to 37 of the decorative member 30 are inserted through the insertion holes 21 to 23 of the garnish 20 from the back side of the garnish 20.
Then, the main body portion 31 of the decorative member 30 is sandwiched and fixed between the back surface side of the garnish 20 and the front surface side of the main body portion 41 of the lens 40, and the assembly is completed as the lighting device 10 becomes an integral object.

Here, after smooth insertion of the edge portions 35 to 37 with respect to the insertion holes 21 to 23, the insertion holes 21 to 23 and the edging are made so that a gap between the insertion holes 21 to 23 and the edge portions 35 to 37 becomes small. The dimensions of the parts 35 to 37 are set.
Then, a connector (not shown) formed on the housing 70 is connected to a vehicle wire harness (not shown), and direct current power is supplied from the in-vehicle battery (not shown) to the lighting device 10 via the wire harness to emit light. The LEDs 83 of the members 81 and 82 are caused to emit light.

[Operation of Lighting Device 10]
The light emitted from the LEDs 83 of the light emitting members 81 and 82 is incident on the light guide 60 with the back surface of the light guide 60 as the incident surface, and is reflected and refracted with the inner wall surfaces of the recesses 61 and 62 of the light guide 60 as the reflecting surfaces. Then, the light guide body 60 is diffused and guided in the entire surface direction, and the entire surface of the light guide body 60 is emitted as the exit surface.

Here, in the locations where the LEDs 83 of the light emitting members 81 and 82 are disposed and the locations where the recesses 61 and 62 of the light guide 60 are disposed, the light emitted from the LEDs 83 of the light emitting members 81 and 82 diffuses in the entire surface of the light guide 60. Is set to be.
A technique for causing the light guide 60 to function as a planar light emitting device (planar illumination device) by using reflection and refraction by the concave portions 61 and 62 formed on the surface of the light guide 60 is a known technology (for example, For example, JP 2012-43617 A will be omitted.

The light emitted from the light guide 60 is incident on the lens 40 with the back surface of the lens 40 as the incident surface, and is exposed from the garnish 20 and the decorative member 30. The top surfaces (tip portions) of the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 are exposed. Radiated from.
As a result, the character code “IIV” formed by the convex portions 42 to 44 emits light, and the character code can be satisfactorily viewed from the outside.

[Operations and effects of the first embodiment]
According to the illumination device 10 of the first embodiment, the following actions and effects can be obtained.

[1] In the lighting device 10, the light emitting members 81 and 82 (LED 83 and wiring board 84), the decorative member 30, the lens 40, the sheet material 50, and the light guide 60 are provided on the back side of the garnish 20 (exterior member). The convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 are inserted into the insertion holes 21 to 23 from the back surface side of the garnish 20 and protrude from the front surface side of the garnish 20.
That is, since the structural members of the lighting device 10 excluding the garnish 20 are not attached to the outside of the installation location of the vehicle, it is possible to prevent the appearance of the vehicle from being impaired.
Moreover, since the structural member of the illuminating device 10 except the garnish 20 is not attached to the outer side of the garnish 20, it can prevent impairing the beauty of the garnish 20.

And in the illuminating device 10, since the convex parts 42-44 of the lens 40 are penetrated by the insertion holes 21-23 from the back surface side of the garnish 20, and protrude from the surface side of the garnish 20, the thickness of the convex parts 42-44 is made. The thickness of the garnish 20 can be increased, and the depth of the lens 40 that can be seen from the outside through the convex portions 42 to 44 is increased. In addition, the back side of the lens 40 is difficult to see from the outside. Excellent design characteristics can be realized.

In addition, in the lighting device 10, straight lines L1 to L4 that connect the edge portions of the insertion holes 21 to 23 on the surface side of the garnish 20 and the LEDs 83 of the light emitting members 81 and 82 pass through the tip portions of the convex portions 42 to 44. No (see FIG. 2C).
Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the LED 83 from being seen from the outside through the tip portions of the convex portions 42 to 44, and the design can be further improved.

[2] The lighting device 10 includes the decorative member 30 having the insertion holes 32 to 34 and the edge portions 35 to 37, and the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 are inserted into the insertion holes 32 to 34. The edge portions 35 to 37 of the member 30 surround the tip portions of the convex portions 42 to 44.
And since the plating layers 38 and 39 of a highly reflective metal material are respectively formed on the inner wall surface and the outer wall surface of the decorative member 30, the decorative member 30 has a high light shielding property.

Here, when the decorative member 30 having a light shielding property is not provided, the light emitted to the side of the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 is irradiated to the surface side of the garnish 20, and the radiant light causes the garnish 20 to emit light. Since the surface is illuminated, the visibility of the convex portions 42 to 44 is hindered by unnecessary light of the garnish 20.

However, in the illuminating device 10, the light emitted to the side of the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 is irradiated on the surface side of the garnish 20 because the decorative member 30 having a light shielding property blocks the convex portion 42. It becomes possible to prevent the visibility of the convex portions 42 to 44 from being impeded by the surface of the garnish 20 being illuminated by the emitted light from .about.44, and the visibility of the convex portions 42 to 44 can be improved.

[3] In the illumination device 10, the light emitted to the sides of the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 is reflected by the plating layer 38 (reflective layer) formed on the inner wall surface of the decorative member 30, and the convex portion 42. Since it is radiated | emitted from the upper end part of the convex parts 42-44 after returning to -44, it becomes possible to improve the brightness of the convex parts 42-44, and can improve the visibility of the convex parts 42-44.

[4] In the illuminating device 10, the plating layers 39 (reflection layers) formed on the outer wall surface of the decorative member 30 can make the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 stand out, so that the design is further improved. be able to.

[5] In the lighting device 10, the inner plating layer 38 (first reflection layer) and the outer plating layer 39 (second reflection layer) are made of the same material, so that both the plating layers 38 are formed by a single plating process. , 39 can be manufactured at the same time, so that the cost can be reduced.

[6] Since the front ends of the edge portions 35 to 37 of the decorative member 30 protrude from the front ends of the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 (see FIG. 2C), the front ends of the edge portions 35 to 37 The portion can protect the tip portions of the convex portions 42 to 44 from being damaged, and the operations and effects of the above [1] to [4] can be obtained with certainty.

[7] In the illumination device 10, since the lens 40 is colored and transparent, the depth of the lens 40 seen from the outside through the convex portions 42 to 44 is further increased, and the back side of the lens 40 is further seen from the outside. Since it becomes difficult, the designability can be further enhanced.

[8] In the illuminating device 10, since the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 constitute the character code “IIV”, the design of the illuminating device 10 can be further improved.

[9] In the illumination device 10, since the outer peripheral edge of the lens 40 and the outer peripheral edge of the housing 70 are joined in a liquid-tight state, it is possible to prevent liquid from entering the housing 70. The light emitting members 81 and 82 (the LEDs 83 and the wiring board 82) housed in the 70 are not exposed to the liquid, and the waterproofness can be improved.
Further, as compared with the case where a waterproof structure is provided between the garnish 20 and the housing 70, the waterproofing in the housing 70 can be realized in a compact manner, and the waterproof effect can be easily enhanced.

[10] In the illumination device 10, the lens 40 includes a plate-like main body 41 and convex portions 42 to 44 protruding in the thickness direction from the surface side of the main body 41, and between the LED 83 and the main body 41. The plate-shaped light guide 60 is provided.
Therefore, the lens 40 can be formed in a plate shape with a large area, and a plurality of convex portions 42 to 44 can be formed. Therefore, the functions and effects of [1] and [8] can be further enhanced.

Second Embodiment
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the illumination device 100 according to the second embodiment includes a garnish 20 (insertion holes 21 to 23), a decorative member 30 (a body portion 31, insertion holes 32 to 34, edge portions 35 to 37, Plating layer 38, 39), lens 110 (main body 111, convex 112-114, concave 115, 116), housing 70 (accommodating concave 71, connection 72), light emitting members 81, 82 (LED 83, wiring board 84). Etc., and used as illumination for automobiles.

The illumination device 100 of the second embodiment differs from the illumination device 10 of the first embodiment in the following points.
[A] The sheet material 50 and the light guide 60 of the first embodiment are omitted.

[A] The lens 40 of the first embodiment is replaced with the lens 110.
The lens 110 includes a main body portion 111 having a substantially flat plate shape having the same size as the lens 40 of the first embodiment, and convex portions 112 to erected so as to protrude in the thickness direction from the surface side of the main body portion 111. 114 and concave portions 115 and 116 each having a triangular groove shape drilled on the surface side of the main body 111.

[C] The convex portions 112 to 114 of the lens 110 have the same size and shape as the convex portions 42 to 44 of the lens 40 of the first embodiment, and are inserted into the insertion holes 32 to 34 of the decorative member 30.
Similarly to the lens 40 of the first embodiment, the lens 110 is integrally formed by injection molding of a colored transparent synthetic resin material colored in an appropriate color.

[D] The inner wall surface of the outer peripheral edge of the housing 70 is bonded and fixed to the side surface of the outer peripheral edge of the main body 111 of the lens 110 so as to be in a liquid-tight state.

[Operation of Lighting Device 100]
The emitted light of the LED 83 of the light emitting members 81 and 82 is incident on the lens 110 with the back surface of the lens 110 as the incident surface, reflected and refracted with the inner wall surfaces of the concave portions 115 and 116 of the lens 110 as the reflecting surface, and passes through the lens 110. The light is diffused and guided in the entire surface direction, and is emitted from the top surfaces (tip portions) of the convex portions 112 to 114 of the lens 110 exposed from the garnish 20 and the decorative member 30.
