Description
走行波形除去部によって、荷重検知手段で検知した荷重検知信号から走行波形を除去した走行波形除去信号を得ることができる。そして、この走行波形除去信号を用いることにより、乗員判定部は、走行波形に影響されない正確な乗員判定を行うことができる。反対に、走行検知部は、走行波形除去信号を用いずに、走行波形を除去する前の、荷重検知手段の走行波形を含む荷重検知信号を用いることにより、正確な走行判断を行うことができる。
(構成1)乗員検知システム7の主要部の構成
上記した乗員検知用コントローラ9は、その内部に主要部として、荷重検知手段8A(図中における荷重センサ)からの荷重検知信号に基づき、乗員判定ロジックを用いて乗員判定を行う乗員判定部11と、この乗員判定部11からの乗員判定信号に基づき、作動判断ロジックを用いてエアバッグ装置3の作動・不作動を判断し作動判断信号を発生する作動判断部12とを備えている。
(構成2)乗員検知用コントローラ9に、荷重検知手段8Aの荷重検知信号から走行中であることを示す走行波形を除去可能な走行波形除去部16を設けるようにする。そして、上記した乗員判定部11が、荷重検知手段8Aの荷重検知信号から、走行波形除去部16によって走行波形を除去した後の走行波形除去信号に基づいて乗員判定信号を求めるように構成される。また、上記した走行検知部13が、走行波形除去部16によって走行波形を除去する前の、荷重検知手段8Aの走行波形を含む荷重検知信号に基づいて走行検知信号を求めるよう構成される。
(構成3)上記したように、車体21に対し、座席2が複数の支持点24a〜24dにて支持されている場合に、荷重検知手段8Aが、少なくとも1つの支持点24a〜24dを除く少なくとも1つ以上の支持点24a〜24dに対してそれぞれ取付けられるようにする。

Claims (2)
- 座席周辺に取付けた乗員検知手段と、該乗員検知手段からの乗員検知信号に基づいてエアバッグ装置の作動・不作動を判断する乗員検知用コントローラとを備え、
前記乗員検知手段が、座席に着座した乗員による荷重を検知可能な荷重検知手段であり、
前記乗員検知用コントローラが、前記荷重検知手段からの荷重検知信号に基づき、乗員判定を行う乗員判定部と、該乗員判定部からの乗員判定信号に基づき、エアバッグ装置の作動・不作動を判断して作動判断信号を発生する作動判断部とを備えた乗員検知システムであって、
更に、乗員検知用コントローラが、前記荷重検知手段からの荷重検知信号に基づき、走行中であるか否かを検知する走行検知部を備え、
前記作動判断部が、前記走行検知部からの走行検知信号に基づいて、停車中である場合には前記乗員判定信号によるエアバッグ装置の作動・不作動の判断を行い、走行中である場合には前記乗員判定信号によるエアバッグ装置の作動・不作動の判断を行わずに前回の判断結果を保持するよう構成されると共に、
前記乗員検知用コントローラが、荷重検知手段の荷重検知信号から走行中であることを示す走行波形を除去可能な走行波形除去部を備え、該走行波形除去部がローパスフィルタであり、
前記乗員判定部が、荷重検知手段の荷重検知信号から、走行波形除去部によって走行波形を除去した後の走行波形除去信号に基づいて乗員判定信号を求め、
前記走行検知部が、走行波形除去部によって走行波形を除去する前の、荷重検知手段の走行波形を含む荷重検知信号に基づいて走行検知信号を求めるよう構成されたことを特徴とする乗員検知システム。 - 車体に対し、座席が複数の支持点にて支持されている場合に、
前記荷重検知手段が、少なくとも1つの支持点を除く少なくとも1つ以上の支持点に対してそれぞれ取付けられたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の乗員検知システム。
