Description

The present invention relates to an automobile bumper device.

Design for automobiles is an important element as well as performance, and improvement in design is also demanded for bumper devices for automobiles. In some cases, a recess is formed along the vehicle width direction at the edge of the bumper beam on the vehicle outer side due to the restriction for improving the design (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
JP 2001-63619 A

Usually, it is necessary to provide the recesses on both sides in the vehicle width direction due to the above design restrictions, but the recesses are also formed in the central part in the same manner as in the manufacture of the bumper beam. That is, since the bumper beam is formed by extrusion molding or roll molding, the cross-sectional shape is substantially constant.

一方で、米国のIIHS(Insurance Institute for Highway Safety:高速道路安全のための保険会社協会)の衝突安全性能試験に、微小ラップバリア試験と呼ばれるものがある。 On the other hand, a collision safety performance test of IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) in the United States is called a micro lap barrier test. In this test, an arc-shaped barrier was placed so that the central part in the width direction of the vehicle protrudes outward and offset in the vertical direction while partially wrapping the bumper device. From 10 km / h.

In this collision test, if the outer edge of the bumper beam is formed with a recess along the vehicle width as described above, the lap amount is insufficient and the vehicle is under the barrier (so-called underride), or the upper side A state (so-called override) is caused.

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and even if a concave portion is formed on the outer edge of the bumper beam due to design restrictions, the micro lap barrier test can sink into the lower side or ride on the upper side in the micro lap barrier test. An object of the present invention is to provide a bumper device for an automobile that can suppress the above.

In order to achieve the above object, an automobile bumper device according to the present invention extends along a vehicle width direction at an outer edge of a bumper beam disposed along the vehicle width direction and covered with a bumper face. A bumper device for an automobile in which a concave portion is formed,
The bumper beam includes an end plate portion positioned on the vehicle outer side, an inner plate portion positioned on the vehicle upper side and connected to the end plate portion and extending toward the vehicle inner side and positioned on the vehicle inner side than the end plate portion. An upper plate portion to be connected, and a lower plate portion which is located below the vehicle and which is connected to the end plate portion and extends to the inside of the vehicle,
The concave portion is formed on an outer edge of the vehicle formed by connecting the end plate portion and the upper plate portion,
The bumper beam is provided between the bumper face and a covering portion that covers the concave portion at the center in the vehicle width direction.
The covering portion is located below the upper plate portion of the upper plate portion and the end plate portion of the bumper beam, and extends downward from a shelf plate portion that is connected to the inner plate portion and extends to the outside of the vehicle. It consists of a patch member that is separated from the bumper beam and is joined to a portion located outside the vehicle with respect to the contact plate portion that comes out and contacts the end plate portion,
The patch member has a protruding portion that extends upward from the upper plate portion.

According to the present invention, it is possible to secure the amount of wrapping in the vertical direction with the arc-shaped barrier projecting from the center portion in the vehicle width direction of the micro lap barrier test with the covering portion covering the center portion in the vehicle width direction of the recess. it can. Therefore, even if a concave portion along the vehicle width direction is formed in the outer edge portion of the bumper beam due to a design restriction, it is possible to suppress the dive into the lower side or the upper side of the barrier in the micro lap barrier test.

Next, a first embodiment of an automobile bumper device according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In the following description, the front side and the rear side of the vehicle will be described without distinction. In the case of a front-side automotive bumper device, the vehicle outer side is the front side, and the vehicle inner side is the rear side. Further, in the case of a rear-side automobile bumper device, the vehicle outer side is the rear side, and the vehicle inner side is the front side. The cross-sectional shape of FIG. 2 of the first embodiment is a reference example, and the cross-sectional shapes of FIGS. 5 and 6 are examples.

As shown in FIG. 1, an automobile is provided with a side member 10 as a pair of left and right frame members extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body on the end side in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. The bumper beam 12 is disposed along the width direction and is attached to the end portions of the side members 10, and the resin bumper face 13 that covers the vehicle exterior side of the bumper beam 12 and forms a design surface.

The bumper beam 12 is formed by roll-forming a steel material (for example, a high-tensile steel material), and a cross section perpendicular to the length direction has a substantially constant shape at any position in the length direction. . The bumper beam 12 can be formed by extrusion molding of aluminum, but in any case, the cross section has a substantially constant shape.

Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the bumper beam 12 includes an end plate portion 20 that extends in the vehicle width direction substantially orthogonal to the vehicle body longitudinal direction at the end portion on the vehicle outer side, and the end plate portion. 20, a lower plate portion 21 extending from the lower edge portion to the vehicle inner side, a lower inner plate portion 22 extending upward from an inner edge portion of the lower plate portion 21 on the vehicle interior side, and a lower inner plate portion 22 of the lower inner plate portion 22. A lower shelf plate portion 23 extending from the upper edge portion toward the end of the vehicle to the position of the end plate portion 20, and extending slightly upward while contacting the end plate portion 20 from the vehicle outer end edge portion of the lower shelf plate portion 23. And a lower abutting plate portion 24 that protrudes.

Further, the bumper beam 12 includes a lower plate portion 26 slightly extending obliquely inward and upward from the upper edge portion of the end plate portion 20, and an inner edge portion of the lower step plate portion 26 on the vehicle interior side from the lower plate portion 26. An upper plate portion 27 that slightly extends obliquely toward the vehicle interior and upward at a larger angle, an upper plate portion 28 that extends from the inner edge of the vehicle interior side of the upper plate portion 27 to the vehicle inner side, and the upper plate portion 28, an upper inner plate portion 29 extending downward from the inner edge portion on the vehicle interior side, and an upper shelf plate portion 30 extending from the lower edge portion of the upper inner plate portion 29 to the position of the end plate portion 20 on the vehicle outer side. The upper shelf plate portion 30 has an upper contact plate portion 31 that extends slightly downward and abuts against the lower contact plate portion 24 while being in contact with the end plate portion 20 from an end edge portion on the vehicle outer side.

The upper contact plate portion 31 and the lower contact plate portion 24 constitute a front / rear contact portion 33 that contacts the end plate portion 20. Such a bumper beam 12 is formed with a recess 34 extending in the vehicle width direction at the upper edge of the vehicle exterior by the lower plate portion 26 and the upper plate portion 27 described above. The recesses 34 are formed due to design restrictions on both sides of the bumper face 13 in the vehicle width direction (range X shown in FIG. 1), and are not necessary in the center part. In production, the bumper beam 12 is formed over the entire length.

In the first embodiment, a patch member (covering portion) 36 that covers the recess 34 is joined to the central portion of the bumper beam 12 in the vehicle width direction. The patch member 36 is formed by press-forming, for example, a steel material (for example, a high-tensile steel material) similar to the bumper beam 12, and extends upward along the end plate portion 20 from the upper end portion of the end plate portion 20 of the bumper beam 12. It has an upward extending plate portion 37 that extends, and an inward extending plate portion 38 that extends substantially perpendicularly from the upper edge portion of the upward extending plate portion 37 to the inside of the vehicle. The plate portion 37 is welded to the end plate portion 20 of the bumper beam 12 at the lower edge portion, and the inwardly extending plate portion 38 is welded to the upper plate portion 28 of the bumper beam 12 at the inner edge portion.

Here, the welded portions 40 for welding the upper extending plate portion 37 and the bumper beam 12 are formed on both ends of the upper extending plate portion 37 in the vehicle width direction, and the inner extending plate portion 38 and the bumper beam 12 are welded. The welded portion 41 is also formed on both ends of the inwardly extending plate portion 38 in the vehicle width direction. Further, the welded portion 40 is shifted upward with respect to the abutting position P between the upper contact plate portion 31 and the lower contact plate portion 24 of the bumper beam 12, and the lower end edge portion of the patch member 36, that is, the upper extension plate portion. The lower end edge of 37 is displaced above the upper contact plate 31 and the lower contact plate 24 of the bumper beam 12, that is, the front and rear contact 33.

The patch member 36 is formed with a plurality of concave beads 42 extending obliquely toward the boundary between the upwardly extending plate portion 37 and the inwardly extending plate portion 38 at predetermined intervals in the vehicle width direction. . Here, each bead 42 is for reinforcement of the upper extension plate portion 37 and the inward extension plate portion 38, and is inclined so that the respective bottom portions are located on the vehicle inner side as the upper side. Thus, the patch member 36 joined to the bumper beam 12 is provided between the bumper beam 12 and the bumper face 13. A bumper absorber made of a foam material may be provided between the bumper face 13 and the bumper beam 12 and the patch member 36.

Specifically, the patch member 36 has a height of the upper extension plate portion 37 of 30 mm, a length of the inward extension plate portion 38 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body of 30 mm, and a length in the vehicle width direction. It is formed in a size of about 200 mm to 400 mm.

According to the first embodiment described above, as shown in FIG. 1, the barrier B having an arc shape so that the central portion in the vehicle width direction protrudes outward, and as shown in FIG. A patch member 36 joined to cover the concave portion 34 at the center in the vehicle width direction of the bumper beam 12 at the initial stage of the collision when a minute lap barrier test is performed by offsetting the upper side in the up-down direction while colliding and performing collision. However, the wrap amount in the vertical direction with respect to the barrier B is ensured and the load from the barrier B is satisfactorily transmitted to the bumper beam 12 (specifically, the wrap amount A is A with respect to the total height H of the bumper beam 12). > H / 3 should be ensured).

Therefore, even if the concave portion 34 extending along the vehicle width direction is formed on the outer edge portion of the bumper beam 12 due to the design restrictions, the phenomenon of entering below the barrier B in the micro lap barrier test can be suppressed. Therefore, as shown by the solid line in FIG. 4, the characteristic of the load F with respect to the stroke during the collision test is shorter than the case where there is no patch member 36 shown by the broken line in FIG. As a result, vehicle damage can be suppressed.

In addition, since the patch member 36 is merely joined to the bumper beam 12, the bumper beam 12 can be formed by roll molding or the like at a low cost as before, and the performance can be satisfied with a minimum cost increase.

In the first embodiment, in order to further secure the vertical wrap amount, as shown in FIG. 5, the upper extending plate portion 37 extends upward from the upper plate portion 28 of the bumper beam 12 and its upper edge. Alternatively, the folded plate portion 44 may be formed so that the folded plate portion 44 is folded back to the vehicle interior side, and the above-described inwardly extending plate portion 38 may be extended from the lower edge portion of the folded plate portion 44. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the upward extending plate portion 37 extends upward from the upper plate portion 28 of the bumper beam 12 and extends inwardly from the upper edge portion of the bumper beam 12. A downward extending plate portion 46 extending downward from the inner edge portion of the inward extending plate portion 45 is formed, and the above-described inward extending plate portion 38 is formed from the lower edge portion of the downward extending plate portion 46. It may be extended.

Next, a reference example of the automobile bumper device according to the present invention will be described with a focus on the differences from the first embodiment with reference to FIGS. In addition, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected to the part similar to 1st Embodiment, and description is abbreviate | omitted.

In the reference example , a bumper absorber 51 made of a resin foam material is disposed between the bumper beam 12 and the bumper face 13. The bumper absorber 51 protrudes upward from a main portion 52 having a rectangular cross section extending in the vehicle width direction at substantially the same height as the end plate portion 20 of the bumper beam 12 and a central portion of the main portion 52 in the vehicle width direction. In addition, it has a covering portion 53 that also protrudes toward the inside of the vehicle.

In the bumper beam 12 of the reference example, the lower plate portion 26 is substantially horizontal, and the upper plate portion 27 is substantially vertical. A part of the covering portion 53 of the bumper absorber 51 enters the recess 34 so as to cover the recess 34 formed by the lower plate portion 26 and the upper plate portion 27 of the bumper beam 12. Here, the covering portion 53 of the bumper absorber 51 has a surface portion 53a on the vehicle outer side that is flush with the surface portion 52a on the vehicle outer side of the main portion 52, and the upper surface portion 53b is the upper plate portion of the bumper beam 12 in the attached state. 28 is flush with the upper surface 28a.

With such a reference example, a small overlap barrier central portion in the vehicle width direction of the barrier B to an arc shape so as to protrude outwardly, to collide with arranged offset vertically upward while wrapped partially When the test is performed, the covering portion 53 of the bumper absorber 51 disposed so as to cover the concave portion 34 at the center in the vehicle width direction of the bumper beam 12 at the beginning of the collision ensures a vertical wrap amount with the barrier B. Thus, the load from the barrier B is satisfactorily transmitted to the bumper beam 12.

Therefore, even if the recess 34 along the vehicle width direction is formed on the outer edge portion of the bumper beam 12 due to the design restrictions, the phenomenon of sinking downward with respect to the barrier B in the micro lap barrier test can be suppressed, similarly to the first embodiment. Vehicle damage can be suppressed. In addition, the bumper beam 12 can be formed by roll molding or the like at a low cost as before, and the bumper absorber 51 is integrated with the covering portion 53 by adjusting the foam shape. Since it can be molded, the performance can be satisfied with a minimum cost increase.

As shown in FIG. 10, in the reference example , the foaming magnification of the central portion Y <b> 1 in the vehicle width direction including the covering portion 53 of the bumper absorber 51 is the foaming magnification of both side portions Y <b> 2 in the vehicle width direction where the covering portion 53 is not formed. However, it may be lowered and hardened. Specifically, for example, the central portion Y1 is lowered to about 5 times with respect to both side portions Y2 having an expansion ratio of about 11 times.

In this way, the strength of the covering portion 53 that covers the concave portion 34 of the bumper beam 12 is increased, and the phenomenon of being buried below the barrier B in the minute lap barrier test can be further suppressed. In this case, by adjusting at the time of foam molding, the foaming ratio of the central part Y1 including the covering part 53 is lowered with respect to both side parts Y2, or the central part Y1 is formed of a foam member having a low foaming ratio, and both side parts Y2 are foamed. You may combine and form with another foaming member with high magnification.

The first implementation embodiment described above, in the reference example has been described taking an example in which recesses along the vehicle width direction to the upper flange of the exterior of the bumper beam is formed, the lower edge of the exterior of the bumper beam The present invention can also be applied to the case where a concave portion is formed. In this case, the above-described top and bottom may be reversed.
