- 関心事の領域の中の測定強度のエントロピの測度は、軟骨同質性を表現する測度として導き出される請求項2に記載の方法。
- 関心事の領域を少なくとも2つの下位領域へ区分するステップと、
健康関節及び病変特性化関節を最良に弁別することを以前に発見された下位領域から得られた同質性表現測定値を比較するステップと
を更に備える請求項2又は3に記載の方法。 - 前記関心事の領域の中の前記測定強度を表現するデータを正則化し、前記信号から導き出される測定値を向上するステップを更に備える請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記関心事の領域は、前記軟骨の負荷圧迫区域の中にある請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記軟骨は膝軟骨である請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記膝軟骨は脛軟骨である請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記脛軟骨は内側脛軟骨である請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記関心事の領域の中の前記区分化領域は、内側脛軟骨の内側区域である請求項4〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記数量パラメータの比較は、健康関節に関して以前に確立された数量パラメータの値及び病変特性化関節に関して以前に確立された数量パラメータの値の双方に対して行われる請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記病変は、変形性関節炎、リューマチ性関節炎、色素性絨毛結節性滑膜炎、リポイド皮膚関節炎(多中心性細網組織球症)、腸症関節炎、血友病(関節内出血)。痛風、家族性地中海熱、偽性痛風、組織褐変関節症、二次性変形性関節炎、梅毒(脊髄梅毒)、発熱性関節炎、結核性関節炎、又は菌性関節炎である請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記3次元スキャン・データは、磁気共鳴映像法(MRI)によって産出される請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 数量パラメータは、脛内側軟骨の内側部分から計算される請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記スキャン・データを分析して、前記数量パラメータを抽出する前に、骨及び他のバックグラウンドから、軟骨を表現する画像データの自動分節化を遂行するステップを更に含む請求項1〜14のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 健康関節について確立された値よりも低い前記数量パラメータの値は、蓋然的な関節病変の表示として取られる請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 後の期間に同じ関節軟骨を表現する3次元画像データから軟骨同質性を表現する第2の測度を決定するステップと、
前記第2の測度を、早期のデータから決定された測度と比較するステップとを更に含み、ここで、軟骨同質性を表現する測度の変化が、変形性関節炎の進行を表示する、請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の方法。 - 軟骨同質性を表現する測度は、早期変形性関節炎の予後生物標識として使用される請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の方法。
