Description
また、ダブルブロー成形方法は工程数が多くその分、製造コストが大きくなってしまうという問題がある。
ここで、合計含有量が3mol%以上になると特に果汁入り炭酸飲料で要求されるコールドスポット65℃、10分相当の熱水シャワーによる殺菌条件(下記(注)参照)で、底部の変形が顕著になるので、前述した底部の熱結晶化処理や、ダブルブロー成形方法等の対策を取らざるを得なくなる。
そこで、3種の共重合副成分の合計含有量を1〜2mol%の範囲とするのがよく、2mol%以下とすることにより、より十分にガラス転移温度の低下を抑制することができる。
また、含有量が1mol%未満とするとプリフォ−ムの射出成形時に曇りが発生したり、二軸延伸ブロー成形時の延伸性が低下する等の問題がある。
(注)PETボトル入り果汁入り炭酸飲料は、20℃以下の低温で充填キャッピングし、その後内容液の品温がもっとも上がりにくい部分(コ−ルドスポット)の品温が、65℃の温度を10分間保持した場合に相当するように、パストライザ−にてボトルを正立状態にした状態で60〜70℃の熱水シャワ−をかけ内容液殺菌を行っている。なお、通常コ−ルドスポットは、ボトル中心の最下点(底中央部)部分から2mm上方に設定する。
この共重合副成分によるガラス転移温度の低下は小さいようではあるが、果汁入り炭酸飲料での熱水シャワー温度が60〜70℃程度と、上記ガラス転移温度に近い温度であること、そしてPETボトルの特に底部の中央部は、2軸延伸ブロー成形においても未延伸、あるいは延伸倍率の極く小さい部分であるので胴部等に比較して、延伸結晶化の進行がなくその分耐熱性が低いこと、等によりガラス転移温度の1℃程度の差により、内圧の増大による底部の変形性が大きく影響を受ける。
更に、この部分はボトルの内圧の上昇により膨出状に変形して、底部底面が接地面を越えるまでになってしまう、所謂「底落ち」が発生する部分であるが、この部分の肉厚を1.5mm以上とすることにより、PET樹脂自体による耐熱性の向上と相俟って、高温、加圧状態における変形をより効果的に抑制することができる。

まず、共重合副成分の含有量の増加によるガラス転移温度の低下を一定の範囲に抑えることができ、PET樹脂としての成形性、機械的性質、衝撃強度等の性能を損なうことなく、PET樹脂が本来有する耐熱性を発揮させることができる。
図1〜図3は本発明の耐熱圧プラスチックボトルの一実施例を示すものである。図1は正面図、図2は底面図、図3は図2中のA−A線に沿って示す底部5近傍の縦断面図である。
このボトル1はPET樹脂製の二軸延伸ブロー成形品であり、口筒部2、肩部3、円筒状の胴部4、底部5から成り、通称容量1.5L、全高さ303.6mm、胴部径92.5mmであり、口筒部2は熱結晶化処理により白化している。
そして、使用したPET樹脂はチタン系触媒でEGとTPAを重合したエチレンテレフタレート単位を主体としたものであり、共重合副成分の合計含有量は1.9mol%である。
また、併せて比較例として共重合副成分の合計含有量が3.0mol%のPET樹脂製ボトルについても同様な試験を実施した。
なお、比較例のボトルは原料であるPET樹脂中の共重合副成分の含有量が異なるだけである。また、実施例および比較例のボトルの原料であるPET樹脂中の共重合副成分はDEGであり、IPA、およびCHDM成分は含有されていない。
上記、実施例と比較例のボトル1について、加湿室内で底部中央部の水分率が約5,000ppmになるように調整後、市販の約2.5ガスボリューム(下記(注)参照)の炭酸成分を含む果汁入り炭酸飲料を充填し(ヘッドスペ−ス29ml)キャップで密封後、コールドスポット64℃、65℃、66℃の温度で10分保持した場合に相当する条件の熱水シャワーによる殺菌試験を実施した。
(注)清涼飲料業界では、標準状態(1気圧,0℃)において、飲料に溶けている炭酸ガスの体積の飲料の体積に対しての比を表したものを、ガスボリュ−ムと呼んでおり、飲料中の炭酸ガスの含有量を表す単位としている。
(2)試験結果 殺菌試験後の底高さの測定結果を、樹脂の共重合副成分含有量、ガラス転移温度(Tg)と共に表1にまとめて示す。表中の「底落ち」と記載したのは、図3中の黒抜き矢印で示したように、底部5底面の中央部が接地面Sを超えて変形した状態を指す。
なお、水分率が高いほどガラス転移温度が低下し、底部の変形が大きくなるが、上記の試験条件は、底部中央部の水分率を実際の使用条件よりもかなり高い水分率である約5,000ppmとして、厳しい状態で底部の変形を評価するものである。
そして、実施例のようにこの含有量を2mol%以下に抑えることにより、底高さHは試験前の約4.5mmから減少するものの、底落ちの発生を確実に防ぐことができ、起立性、接地性も含めて実用の範囲内とすることができ、製造ライン適性の問題もなく、本願発明の作用効果が確認された。
本願発明においてボトルの大きさは特に限定されるものではなく、500ml、350ml等の比較的小型ボトルにも適用できる。

Claims (1)
- 円筒状の胴部と、ペタロイド状の形状の耐圧性の底部を有する二軸延伸ブロー成形したポリエステル樹脂製のボトルであって、
前記ポリエステル樹脂を、重合触媒がチタン系で、エチレンテレフタレート単位を主体とし、副成分としてイソフタル酸、シクロヘキサンジメタノール、およびジエチレングリコールから選択される少なくとも1つの成分を共重合成分として含有し、これら3種の共重合副成分の合計含有量が1〜2mol%の範囲のものとし、
底部底面の中心軸位置を中心とした、径30mmの範囲の部分の結晶化度を20%以下、肉厚を1.5mm以上としたことを特徴とする耐熱圧性プラスチックボトル。
