Description
本出願は、2002年9月30日付けで出願された米国仮特許出願第60/415313号(その全体を参照により本明細書に明確に援用する)の35U.S.C.第119条(e)に基づく利益を主張するものである。
本発明は、手術システムに関する。より具体的には、本発明は、内視鏡システムのような、自立型(self-contained)滅菌可能手術システムに関する。
手術処置または手術部位を見えるようにするさまざまな異なる手術システムがある。一つのそのようなタイプの手術装置は、内視鏡である。そのような装置は、患者の体内の手術部位を、照明し、見て、かつ/または操作するために、手術処置中、患者の体内に挿入しうる。従来の内視鏡は、通常、フレキシブルな内視鏡シャフトを用いており、その第1端が患者の体内に挿入可能である。このシャフトは、第1端に装着されたカメラを有しており、その第2端で、カメラに電力を供給するための電源に接続されている。くわえて、シャフトは、その中を通って患者の体の外側の光源に接続する光ファイバーバンドルを有している。光源は、他の電源によって電力を供給され、光源からの光は、患者の体内の手術部位を照明するために、第2端から、シャフトの光ファイバーバンドルを通して、第1端へと運ばれる。くわえて、内視鏡の第2端は、カメラによって受信された画像を表示するために、さらに他の電源を有するテレビジョンモニターに接続される。

前記光源に電力を供給するための、前記シャフトの前記遠位端に配置された電源と、
前記シャフトの近位端に取り外し可能に結合された制御モジュールであって、前記シャフトの操縦を制御する操作ユニットを含む制御モジュールと、
前記制御モジュールに装着され、前記制御モジュールに対して可動である表示画面とを備え、
