Description
Claims (5)
- 燃焼器アッセンブリが、PEM型燃料電池組立体内の電池スタックから出るアノード排出物気体を燃焼させるように作動可能である、高分子電解質膜(PEM)型燃料電池電力設備の燃焼器アッセンブリであって、
a) 触媒燃焼器と、
b) 触媒燃焼器に隣接しかつその中に開いている空気/アノード排出物気体混合ステーションと、
c) 触媒燃焼器と熱交換関係に配置された少なくとも1つの熱交換器と、
を備え、
熱交換器は、触媒燃焼器内で燃焼されるアノード排出物気体と空気の混合物から触媒燃焼器によって生成される熱を用いることによって、熱交換器内に含まれる水を、水と水蒸気の二相混合物に変換するように作動可能であり、
前記燃焼器アッセンブリは、混合ステーションに付随してガソリンまたは他の従来の燃料の燃焼器をさらに含み、この従来の燃料の燃焼器は、PEM型燃料電池電力設備の始動時に従来の燃料を燃焼させて、触媒燃焼器を加熱するためおよび熱交換器内の水および水蒸気の二相混合物を生成するための熱を生成するように作動可能であり、
前記燃焼器アッセンブリは、触媒燃焼器と従来の燃焼器との間に配置された熱交換器をさらに備え、この熱交換器は、従来の燃焼器内で燃焼される従来の燃料と空気の混合物から従来の燃焼器によって生成される熱を用いることによって、熱交換器内に含まれる水を、水と水蒸気の二相混合物に変換するように作動可能であり、かつ従来の燃焼器内で燃焼される従来の燃料と空気の混合物から従来の燃焼器によって生成される熱を熱交換器内に含まれる水に移動させることによって、従来の燃焼器の排出物の温度を触媒燃焼器に許容可能なレベルに低減するように作動可能であることを特徴とする燃焼器アッセンブリ。 - 前記燃焼器アッセンブリは、熱交換器から水と水蒸気の混合物を受け取るための気水分離器と、この気水分離器から燃料電池組立体の水蒸気改質器ステーションに水蒸気を輸送するための第1のラインと、この気水分離器から熱交換器に水を再循環させるための第2のラインとをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の燃焼器アッセンブリ。
- a) 触媒燃焼器と、ガソリンまたは他の従来の燃料の燃焼器と、触媒燃焼器と従来の燃焼器との間に配置された熱交換器とを備え、
b) 触媒燃焼器内で燃料電池アノード排出物気体流れを燃焼させ、
c) 燃料電池アノード排出物気体流れの燃焼によって生成された熱で水の流れを水と水蒸気の混合物に変換し、
d) この混合物からの水蒸気を燃料電池電力設備内の触媒燃料改質器に供給し、
e) 燃料電池電力設備の始動時に、従来の燃焼器内でガソリンなどの従来の燃料を燃焼させ、
f) 従来の燃料の燃焼によって生成された熱で触媒燃焼器を作動温度に到達させるとともに水の流れを水と水蒸気の混合物に変換し、
g) この混合物からの水蒸気を燃料電池電力設備内の触媒燃料改質器に供給し、
h) 熱交換器を用いて、従来の燃焼器の排出物の温度を触媒燃焼器に許容可能なレベルに低減する、
ことを含むことを特徴とする、高分子電解質膜(PEM)型燃料電池電力設備内の水蒸気改質器に使用するための水蒸気を生成する方法。 - 前記混合物から水を収集し、この収集された水をまた触媒燃焼器に再循環させて、この収集され再循環された水を水と水蒸気の混合物に変換することをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- アノード排出物を触媒燃焼器内へ導入する前に、空気とアノード排出物の旋回した混合物を提供することをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
