Claims (5)
- 車両の走行中においても成立可能に設定されたエンジンの自動停止条件が成立したときに、エンジンに対する燃料供給を停止してエンジンを再始動に適した所定のクランク角範囲内に停止させるとともに、自動停止状態にあるエンジンの再始動条件が成立したときに、少なくとも膨張行程で自動停止した気筒において燃焼を行わせることによりエンジンを自動的に再始動させる停止再始動制御手段を備えたエンジンの始動装置であって、
トルクコンバータを含み、車輪側への駆動力の伝達が可能なドライブ状態と車輪側への駆動力の伝達が切り離されたニュートラル状態との間で切換可能な自動変速機構と、この自動変速機構がニュートラル状態にあるときにドライブ状態に切り換えられた場合の上記トルクコンバータのタービン回転速度を予測するタービン回転速度予測手段と、上記エンジンの回転速度を検出するエンジン回転速度検出手段とを備え、
上記停止再始動制御手段は、車両走行中に上記自動停止条件が成立した場合に当該成立後であって上記燃料供給の停止前の所定時期に上記自動変速機構をドライブ状態からニュートラル状態に切り換えるとともに、上記エンジン回転速度検出手段の検出結果に基づいてエンジンの自動停止を判定した場合であって、上記タービン回転速度予測手段の予測結果に基づいて上記タービンの予測回転速度が車輪側からの逆駆動力によってエンジンのクランク軸が回転される所定の影響回転速度よりも低いと判定した場合に、上記自動変速機構をニュートラル状態からドライブ状態に切り換えることを特徴とする車両のエンジンの始動装置。 - 上記停止再始動制御手段は、上記エンジンの自動停止を判定した後に再始動条件が成立した場合に、上記タービンの予測回転速度に拘わらず、少なくともエンジン停止時に膨張行程にある気筒の燃焼を実行させてから、上記自動変速機構をニュートラル状態からドライブ状態に切り換えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の車両のエンジンの始動装置。
- エンジンのクランク軸をモータで駆動する始動アシスト装置をさらに備え、上記停止再始動制御手段は、再始動条件が成立したときに、この始動アシスト装置を駆動することを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2記載の車両のエンジンの始動装置。
- 上記自動変速機構は、流体圧制御により断続される複数の摩擦要素を有し、これらの摩擦要素を断続することにより上記ニュートラル状態とドライブ状態とを切り換えるように構成されるとともに、上記停止再始動制御手段は、上記ニュートラル状態として、上記摩擦要素に接続される所定の流体路に作動流体を所定の流体圧になるまで充填させたプリチャージ状態とすることを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の車両のエンジンの始動装置。
- 上記プリチャージ状態は、上記摩擦要素に接続される所定の流体路に作動流体を充填させる初期プリチャージ段階と、この初期プリチャージ段階を経由して摩擦要素を解放位置から締結方向に移動させて締結直前の状態とさせる後期プリチャージ段階とを含み、上記停止再始動制御手段によって自動変速機構がニュートラル状態となされているときには後期プリチャージ段階のプリチャージ状態となされていることを特徴とする請求項4記載の車両のエンジンの始動装置。
