Description
(1) 先端側に配置された線状の第1ワイヤと、前記第1ワイヤの基端に接合され、前記第1ワイヤの構成材料より弾性率が大きい材料で構成された線状の第2ワイヤとを備えるワイヤ本体を有し、
前記第1ワイヤと前記第2ワイヤとの接合境界部が、前記ワイヤ本体の基端方向に向かって凸となるような皿状の湾曲凸面形状をなしていることを特徴とするガイドワイヤ。
第1ワイヤ2と第2ワイヤ3とは、例えばバット溶接機によって、所定の電圧を印加されながら第1ワイヤ2の基端と第2ワイヤ3の先端とが加圧接触される。この加圧接触により、接触部分には溶融層が形成され、この溶融層が冷却固化すると接合境界部14が形成され、第1ワイヤ2と第2ワイヤ3とが強固に接合される。この溶接の際に、接合境界部14を含む所定の領域(例えば、接合境界部14から前後0.1〜5mm程度の範囲)に外径が大なる隆起部分が形成される。この隆起部分を適度に除去(削除)して形状を整えることにより、突出部17を形成する。突出部17の外周面は、実質的に平滑な面とすることができる。なお、この隆起部分の除去(整形)の方法は、例えば、研削、研磨、エッチング等の化学処理が挙げられる。

Claims (7)
- 先端側に配置された線状の第1ワイヤと、前記第1ワイヤの基端に接合され、前記第1ワイヤの構成材料より弾性率が大きい材料で構成された線状の第2ワイヤとを備えるワイヤ本体を有し、
前記第1ワイヤと前記第2ワイヤとの接合境界部が、前記ワイヤ本体の基端方向に向かって凸となるような皿状の湾曲凸面形状をなしていることを特徴とするガイドワイヤ。 - 前記第1ワイヤと前記第2ワイヤとの接合は、溶接によりなされている請求項1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記接合境界部は、層状をなしている請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記層状をなす接合境界部の厚さは、0.001〜100μmである請求項3に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記ワイヤ本体の前記接合境界部における外径は、前記接合境界部の基端側および先端側の部位の外径より大きい請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記ワイヤ本体の外周に、少なくとも前記接合境界部を覆うように設けられた被覆層を有する請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記第2ワイヤの先端付近に、その外径が先端方向へ向かって漸減する外径漸減部を有する請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載のガイドワイヤ。
