特許文献2)などで開示されているものがある。
本発明の請求項1に記載の発明は、基板上に、少なくとも正孔を注入する陽極、発光領域を有する発光層、および電子を注入する陰極を備えた有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子からなる露光ヘッドを具備する露光手段と、露光手段の露光光により静電潜像が形成される感光体と、静電潜像にトナーを供給して感光体上にトナー像を形成する現像手段と、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を冷却する冷却手段とを有する画像形成装置であり、冷却手段により有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を冷却することとしているので、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の温度上昇を抑えることが可能になるという効果を奏する。
トナー像として顕像化する現像ローラ(現像手段)2a〜5aと、タンク内のトナー14を撹拌する撹拌部材2b〜5bと、トナー14を撹拌しつつこれを現像ローラ2a〜5aへ供給するサプライローラ2c〜5cと、現像ローラ2a〜5aへ供給されたトナー14を所定の厚みに整えるとともに摩擦により当該トナー14を帯電するドクターブレード2d〜5dとを備えている。
形成されて電子を注入する電極である陰極33とが形成されている。また、陽極32と陰極33との間には、発光領域を有する発光層34が形成されている。
のAl合金等が用いられる。さらに、Li/Al、Li2O/Al、LiF/Al等の積層膜を用いても良い。
グラファイトシートはポリイミドフィルムを高温で焼いて形成する物で、熱伝導率に異方性を持たせることが可能となり、特定の方向に効率よく熱を伝達することができる。また、カーボングラファイトシートは柔軟性を持ち、かつ加工性にも優れるため、放熱経路が複雑となった場合や、放熱対象が線上に構成されているような場合でも、容易に配設することが可能である。放熱シートは、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の基材や封止材に比べて熱伝導性が高いことが求められ、材料そのものを特に限定するものでは無い。

Claims (5)
- 対向する一対の陽極と陰極の間に複数個の発光ユニットを有した有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子で構成される露光手段を備え、
前記有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を構成するそれぞれの発光ユニットを、
温度の上昇と共に光量が増加するユニットと、
温度の上昇と共に光量が低下するユニットと、を組み合わせて構成したことを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記露光手段を構成する前記有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を冷却する冷却手段を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記露光手段を構成する前記有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子を冷却する冷却手段と、
前記露光手段の温度を検出する温度センサと、
前記温度センサで検出される前記露光手段の温度が所定温度外となったならば前記冷却手段を動作させる制御手段とを備えたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記露光手段を構成する前記有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の具備する有機物の結晶化温度以下に前記露光手段を冷却するよう前記冷却手段を制御することを特徴とする請求項3記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記冷却手段は、ペルチェ素子またはファンまたはフィンであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の画像形成装置。
