【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来は、URLを基にインターネットにアクセスする場合、インターネットアクセス用のソフトウェア(以下、「WWWブラウザ」という。)を使用し、アクセスしたいURLを登録する必要があった。そのため、インターネットの利用者は、まず、放送番組等で知ったURLを紙にメモし、WWWブラウザを起動し、更に、メモしたURLを手作業で登録するという煩雑な手続を経る必要があった。

上記目的を達成するために、本発明のネットワーク接続装置は、
ネットワーク接続手段、映像信号復調手段映像信号復調手段で復調された映像信号に重畳されている文字放送信号を分離し復号して表示信号とする文字放送復号手段と、映像信号復調手段で復調された映像信号及び文字放送復号手段で復号した表示信号から映像信号を生成させる映像信号生成手段、映像信号生成手段で生成された映像信号の文字認識でネットワークアドレス情報を抽出する文字列抽出認識手段、ネットワークアドレス情報を解析し接続するネットワークを選択しアクセスするネットワークアクセス手段とを有することを特徴とする。
