装しているバンパがある。(Prior Art) Bumpers are provided at the front and rear of the vehicle body to protect the vehicle body from small collisions, but because of their light weight, and because dents are less likely to occur after a collision, a resin material with a relatively high rigidity such as polypropylene. Has developed an impact energy absorbing bumper (see, for example, Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 59-70850). As shown in FIG. 5, an energy absorbing material 12 such as urethane foam is superposed on the outer side of the vehicle body of the back beam 11 having a closed cross-section, the lower end is fixed to the lower surface of the back beam 11 with screws or the like, and the upper end is a bracket. There is a bumper in which an energy absorbing material 12 is covered by a bumper skin 14 attached to the upper surface of the back beam 11 via 13.

When the bumper skin is buckled or the bracket is deformed due to the deformation of the bumper skin, resulting in deformation of the mounting part of the bumper skin and peripheral parts, it becomes difficult to restore the shape, and the appearance is significantly impaired or the bumper skin mounting hole There is a problem such as damage to the product.

In a bumper structure of an automobile in which an energy absorbing material is superposed on the outer side of the back beam of the vehicle and the energy absorbing material is covered with a bumper skin, a back beam having a hat-shaped cross-section opening to the vehicle side and an opening of this back beam. A bracket that is installed between the upper and upper portions of the back beam and projects upward from the upper edge of the back beam, and has a bent portion that bends outward from the upper end of the back beam. It is superposed on the upper surface of the bent portion of the bracket, covers the tip of the bent portion, and hangs downward to form an L-shape outward of the vehicle body at an intermediate height position between the bent portion of the bracket and the upper portion of the back beam. A bumper skin made of an elastically deformable resin material having a space formed by the L-shaped part and the bent part formed on the upper part of the back beam and the bracket, and in a state where the space is held. Back beam are superimposed along the top cross-hat of characterized by comprising an energy absorbing material which is covered state by the bumper skin.

Since the members are arranged, elastic deformation of the bumper skin is allowed so that the L-shaped portion of the bumper skin enters the space when the impact acts on the bumper skin due to a collision or the like, and the bumper skin mounting portion is large. By avoiding deformation, deformation and damage of the mounting portion and parts provided around the mounting portion are reduced to improve shape restoration after collision and appearance quality.

At this time, the L-shaped portion 5c of the bumper skin 5 has a space 6 formed by the L-shaped portion 5c, the upper portion 2e of the back beam 2 and the bent portion 3a of the bracket 3, and the attachment of the bumper skin 5 is performed. Since the portion 5b and the point of action of the load F are displaced, the portion enters into the space portion 6 and the bumper skin 5 is deformed as shown by the chain line. Therefore, the load acting on the mounting portion 5b of the bumper skin 5 is significantly relieved, the deformation and damage of the mounting portion 5b and the bracket 3 and the like are reduced, and the influence on the peripheral parts can be avoided.

Since the L-shaped portion of the bumper skin is elastically deformed and allowed to enter the space, the load acting on the bumper skin mounting portion is reduced, and the bumper skin mounting portion and the mounting portion such as the bracket are deformed. And damage to peripheral parts is reduced,
In addition to cost reductions such as repairs, shape restoration after a collision is improved, appearance quality is improved, and a bracket is installed over the opening of the back beam to improve the rigidity of the back beam and thus the rigidity of the bumper. Can be expected to improve.
