Abstract

To provide a packaging container that is given with a constant strength and allowed to stably sustain the function thereof with the functionality and appearance at placement of a precooked food such as a boxed meal taken into consideration in accordance with a kind thereof.SOLUTION: A packaging container according to one aspect in an embodiment of the present invention comprises a container body that has a bottom surface portion, a peripheral wall portion rising while increasing in diameter continuously along an edge of the bottom surface portion and a flange portion provided continuously around an upper-end entire circumference of the peripheral wall portion and that includes a support that part of the peripheral wall portion continuously protrudes along the peripheral wall portion toward a side to receive a content. A container according to one aspect in an embodiment of the present invention has one and the other ends of the support that, in side view, are different in upward distance with respect to the bottom surface portion. A packaging container according to one aspect in an embodiment of the present invention has one and the other ends of the support that, in side view, are different in upward distance with respect to the bottom surface portion. Description

The present invention relates to a packaging container for storing food, etc.

Traditionally, when retailers such as supermarkets and convenience stores sell food such as boxed lunches and prepared meals, packaging containers have been selected taking into consideration the circumstances under which the food will be packaged, the state in which the food will be sold, and the situation in which the food will be eaten.

For example, when packaging containers containing food are sold stacked in a storefront, the structure must ensure a certain level of strength so that the weight of the upper packaging containers does not crush the lower packaging containers. Also, when boxed lunches containing side dishes with fried foods as the main menu are laid out flat in a storefront, if the fried foods can be placed stably while being slightly upright inside the main body of the packaging container, it will look good and encourage customers to purchase.

Patent document 1 discloses a packaging container that is roughly circular when viewed from above and has a reinforcing part for strength reinforcement.

The packaging container in Patent Document 1 can ensure a certain level of strength, but does not take into consideration the appearance of the prepared food or the functionality when the prepared food is placed on it, as described above.

The objective of the present invention is to provide a packaging container that provides a certain level of strength to the container body and allows prepared foods to be stored in a lunch box or the like to be placed thereon stably and continuously while being slightly upright, improving the appearance and encouraging customers to purchase the product.

The packaging container in one embodiment of the present invention has a container body having a bottom surface, a peripheral wall portion that rises while continuously expanding along the edge of the bottom surface, and a flange portion that is continuously provided from the entire upper end of the peripheral wall portion toward the outside, and a support portion in which a part of the peripheral wall portion protrudes along the peripheral wall portion toward the side that contains the contents and is composed of the bottom surface and the peripheral wall portion.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the packaging container has a different distance upward from the bottom surface portion between one end of the support portion and the other end of the support portion when viewed from the side.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the packaging container has a secondary support portion that protrudes further along the support portion toward the side that contains the contents.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the packaging container further includes a lid that closes the container body, and the lid has an outer periphery that contacts the flange when closed, and an upper surface of the lid that is surrounded by the outer periphery of the lid.

The present invention provides a packaging container that provides a certain level of strength to the container body and allows side dishes to be stored in lunch boxes, etc., to be placed on the container stably and continuously while being slightly upright, improving the appearance and encouraging customers to purchase the product.

One embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. Note that the same elements are given the same reference numerals, and if an explanation is repeated, that explanation may be omitted. In addition, in the drawings, each component is mainly shown diagrammatically to make it easier to understand.

In order to make the explanation clearer, the drawings may show the width, thickness, shape, etc. of each part in a schematic manner compared to the actual embodiment, but these are merely examples and do not limit the interpretation of the present invention.

In this specification, "up" or "above" refers to the vertically upward direction or a direction close to vertically upward when the container is actually placed with its bottom side facing down, and "down" or "below" refers to the opposite direction of "up" or "above." In addition, when drawings are used for explanation, what is above or below on the drawings may be called "up" or "below" for convenience of explanation.

Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a container body of a packaging container according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Figure 1, the container body 100 has a generally elliptical shape when viewed from above.

The container body 100 has a bottom surface portion 110, a peripheral wall portion 120 that rises upward while continuously expanding in diameter along the edge of the bottom surface portion 110, and a flange portion 135 that is provided continuously outward from the entire upper end circumference of the peripheral wall portion 120, and opens upward with the flange portion 135 as the outer edge. Here, the bottom surface portion 110 and the peripheral wall portion 120 are configured so that contents such as prepared foods can be stored in the container body 100, and the side that stores the contents is called the inside of the container body 100.

The bottom surface 110 of the container body 100 is the portion that comes into contact with the placement surface when the container body 100 is placed on the placement surface, such as a table. The bottom surface 110 has a shape that allows it to be placed stably on a table or the like, and may also have a shape that makes it difficult for the load to collapse when multiple packaging containers are transported or displayed in a vertically stacked state, for example, by appropriately combining with the upper surface of the lid of the packaging container placed below. The lid will be described later.

For example, the bottom surface 110 may have an upward recess formed such that only the outer edge portion contacts the placement surface and the central region is located higher than the outer edge portion, with the central region being spaced away from the placement surface. A convex shape may be formed on the top surface of the lid body so that it can be combined with the recess in the bottom surface 110, ensuring stability when stacking the packaging containers vertically.

The peripheral wall portion 120 is formed to expand outward so that its diameter in a top view increases as it rises upward from the outer edge of the bottom portion 110. However, if reinforcing ribs or the like are provided in parts of the peripheral wall portion 120 for reinforcement, there may be some parts that do not expand upward locally.

As shown in FIG. 1, a step portion 140 is formed on the peripheral wall portion 120 below the flange portion 135. The step portion 140 is the portion that fits when the container body 100 is closed with the lid. The shape of the step portion 140 can be set as desired depending on the fitting form between the container body 100 and the lid.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the peripheral wall portion 120 is formed with a support portion 150 that protrudes inwardly from the container body 100 along a portion of the peripheral wall portion 120.

The support portion 150 not only reinforces the strength of the container body 100, but also allows some of the prepared foods to be kept slightly upright when stored inside the container body 100 by using the protruding shape of the support portion 150. By keeping the prepared foods slightly upright inside the container body 100 in this way, the appearance of the prepared foods is improved, and customer purchasing motivation can be increased.

The support portion 150 is a deformed portion of the peripheral wall portion 120, and has a shape that protrudes inward along the peripheral wall portion 120. The support portion 150 has two ends. For ease of explanation, in this specification, one is assumed to be the start point of the support portion 150 and is referred to as the start point end portion 154, and the other is assumed to be the end point and is referred to as the end point end portion 152.

The support portion 150 starts to protrude inward in a spiral shape along the peripheral wall portion 120 from a starting end portion 154 below the step portion 140 in the peripheral wall portion 120, and the protruding width increases in the vertical direction and reaches a maximum at the ending end portion 152. Note that the vertical direction refers to the distance from the bottom surface portion to the flange portion in the peripheral wall portion 120, and the support portion 150 protrudes inwardly of the container body 100 according to this distance.
Variations in the shape of support portion 150 include those in which the protruding width of support portion 150 gradually increases from starting end portion 154, but the width reaches a maximum value before reaching end portion 152 and then decreases slightly at end portion 152, and those in which support portion 150 in a top view is an approximately straight line from starting end portion 154 to end portion 152 and the width is greatest near the midpoint, but are not limited to these.

As such, the protruding width of the support portion 150 is not particularly limited. However, if the protruding width of the support portion 150 is too small, it will not be possible to keep certain side dishes such as fried shrimp upright, and the strength of the container body 100 itself will be insufficient. On the other hand, if the protruding width of the support portion 150 is too large, the volume of the container body 100 will be excessively reduced, and not only will it be unable to adequately accommodate the side dishes, but the amount of contents will appear unreasonably small, which will negatively impact the impression given to the purchaser. Therefore, the protruding width of the support portion 150 can be appropriately selected depending on the type of side dish to be accommodated in the container body 100, and it is preferable that it protrudes within the range of 2 mm to 10 mm.

In one embodiment of the present invention, one container body 100 may have multiple support parts 150. When multiple support parts 150 are provided, they can be parallel to the vertical direction when the container body 100 is placed and plane-symmetrical with respect to a cross section passing through the center of gravity of the container body 100.

When multiple support parts 150 are provided within one container body 100, it is preferable to form them in the range of 2 to 10. Furthermore, the positional relationship of the multiple support parts 150 is not particularly limited, and they may be arranged so that they do not overlap each other by being shifted in the vertical or circumferential direction, or they may be formed so that they partially overlap.

In one embodiment of the present invention, as an example of providing a plurality of support parts 150 , a sub-support part 410 protruding inwardly of the container body 100 may be provided along the support part 150 .
Figure 2 is an oblique view showing an example in which a sub-support part 410 is provided on a support part 150. In the container body 100 shown in Figure 2, by providing two protruding shapes consisting of the support part 150 and the sub-support part 410, depending on the type of side dish, the side dish can be kept upright more stably compared to an embodiment in which only a single support part 150 is provided, which improves the appearance of the side dish contained in the packaging container and encourages customers to purchase it.

Like the support part 150, the sub-support part 410 also has a start end part 418 and an end end part 416. Here, the start end part 418 of the sub-support part 410 starts to protrude from a position below the support part 150, and the position of the end end part 416 of the sub-support part 410 is a position below the end end part 152 of the support part 150.

The number of sub-support parts can be changed as appropriate depending on the type of prepared food to be stored in the container body 100. For example, a sub-support part 410 may be provided on the support part 150, and another sub-support part may be provided on the sub-support part 410.

Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view showing a packaging container according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Figure 4, the packaging container has a container body 100 and a lid body 710. The lid body 710 of the packaging container according to one embodiment of the present invention has a lid body outer peripheral portion 720 that forms its outer edge shape. When the lid body 710 is placed on the container body 100 and closed, the lid body outer peripheral portion 720 and the flange portion 135 of the container body come into contact with each other, and are configured so that the lid body outer peripheral portion 720 and the flange portion 135 of the container body 100 are appropriately combined.

The lid 710 has a lid top surface 730 that is surrounded by a lid outer periphery 720. The lid top surface 730 is the part that shows the contents to the customer, and may be formed into a flat or curved shape depending on the type of prepared food or other food stored therein.

The lid 710 is thinly molded from a synthetic resin such as polystyrene. Therefore, a rib 750 may be provided on a part of the lid 710 to reinforce its strength. In addition, a handle 760 for removing the lid 710 may be provided as appropriate.

The packaging container according to one embodiment of the present invention can close the container body 100 using a lid 710 of any shape. The lid 710 that is placed on the container body 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention can close the container body 100 by internally fitting into a step portion 140 formed on the peripheral wall portion of the container body 100. For this reason, a lid fitting portion 740 that fits into the step portion 140 of the container body 100 is provided between the lid outer peripheral portion 720 and the lid upper surface portion 730. The shape of the step portion 140 can be changed arbitrarily to match the shape of the lid fitting portion 740.

The container body 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention can be formed by thermoforming a synthetic resin sheet, for example, by sheet molding such as vacuum molding, hot plate pressure molding, vacuum pressure molding, double-sided vacuum molding, etc. The synthetic resin sheet may be, for example, a polyester resin such as polyethylene terephthalate, or an olefin resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene, and may be a single-layer or multi-layer sheet, which may be colored or colorless transparent, or opaque, or may be made of a non-foamed resin. Furthermore, the front or back surface of the sheet may be covered with a synthetic resin film, and if the front surface is covered, printing may be applied.

The container body 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is not limited to a circular or elliptical shape when viewed from above, and may be a polygonal shape when viewed from above. Fig. 3 shows an example of a regular octagonal shape when viewed from above. When the peripheral wall portion 120 is a polygonal shape when viewed from above as in Fig. 3, the support portion 150 is also formed along the peripheral wall portion 120.

Although an embodiment of the present invention has been described above, various omissions, substitutions, and modifications can be made without departing from the gist of the invention. This embodiment and its modifications are included within the scope and gist of the invention, and are included in the scope of the invention and its equivalents described in the claims.

The packaging container according to claim 2, further comprising a secondary support portion that protrudes along the support portion toward the side where the contents are stored. The container further includes a lid for closing the container body, the lid including an outer periphery that contacts the flange when the lid is closed, and an upper surface of the lid surrounded by the outer periphery of the lid.
